I don't think The Jacksons' new album will be a complete flop because of all the media attention that is on them after Michael's death. A lot of the youngsters as well as the old fans will buy it because of all the hype that's going on after Michael's death. But in the long run, when Michael's death wears off, the youngsters will get bored with them and move on. If they were smart, they would focus on the older crowd which has no jams coming which they long for. I'm not saying they will stick with them because a lot of older people have become dull ass "family" types these days but their kids will be graduating soon and moving out and our divorce years will start occurring then....maybe that's when things will liven up....when these dull asses get divorces like the even older blues generation and starts going to the hole in the walls. But with all the focus on The Jacksons right now, instead of them selling out, they really should try to do something to try to change things instead of being dull idiots and going along with the program. What they need to do is throwdown and throwdown hard! Take the shit hop drum machines out of the studio, load them at the truck, and drop them off at Toys R Us. It's the Christmas season and some four year old would love to have those fisher price toys they are recording with. I'm probably wrong but I think they can still have a legacy without being pressured to put on a concert.
I think they could all write books and hold workshops to teach younger artists what they learned performing on the road before Motown and all the stuff they learned at Motown from the writers and producers there. They don't have to put any personal stuff in it if they don't want to. As far as performing as "The Jackson 4our" they are counting the days like Frankie Beverly without Maze. Stevena Jackson '12
Name: Stevena Jackson Year: 2012 House: Assigned to Winthrop, live in Matthews Concentration: Philosophy Hometown: Los Angeles Relationship Status: Single Describe yourself in 5 words: Spontaneous. Confident. Determined. Honest. Obsessively clean. Do you have any previous modeling experience? Yes, I started my career in modeling at age 3. I was represented by Ford Models and did print for companies such as Guess, Land's End, and more. Why are you modeling for Eleganza this year? I love modeling, I didn't have time to do it anymore in high school and this was the perfect opportunity to get involved with something that I really missed. What is your favorite thing about Eleganza? The crazy rehearsals. The music is always great, the company is wonderful, and even though it's long hours we still have a great time. What is your best physical feature? My hair!! It definitely is my most defining feature, my "signature" I guess you could say. If you could change one thing about your body what would it be? I'd like to maybe reach 5'5" one day. That'd be nice. What is your favorite place to eat in Harvard Square? Qdoba! Didn't have to think twice. Where is the best place to go on a Saturday night at Harvard? As long as I'm with my girls, it doesn't matter. Where is the worst place to go on a Saturday night at Harvard? Lamont. UHS. Annenberg. Any of those. Tell us one thing about you that people are usually surprised to hear: People are usually surprised that I'm half Persian (and that I speak it too), I usually get somewhere in South America. But nope, half persian and half black. Anything else you’d like to tell us? It's going to be an amazing show, I better see everyone out there! I don't doubt that the Jacksons (be it the 4 orignals or all 5) can make a great album featuring brand new material, all they need to do is be orignal and keep that diva Jermaine in line before he gets out of control.
What would be painful to see is the Jacksons performing old J5 or The Jacksons material without Michael. Matter of fact, I saw on the show how they wanted to do one of Michael's songs, now that would be interesting, but listening to 'I Want You Back' 'ABC' 'I'll Be There' 'Can You Feel It' without Michael, I don't know . | |

Vanilli said: Was I the only one who watched the show and appreciated Marlon and Tito a lot more and resented Jermaine a lot more? It was such a nice surprise to see Katherine Jackson. She is a true class act.
Agreed. Marlon and Tito have awesome personalities and are now my faves (well aside from MJ). They both seemed really level headed and down to earth. Jackie I found to be sweet and sensitive, but he was kinda laid back. Jermaine behaved just like I thought he would. Total camera hog and diva. He thinks it's all about him. After watching the show, I dislike him now even more than I did before. But I admit he can sing and is talented. If the Jackson's do come out with a new record though, I will probably buy it if it's any good but I have to say it will never be the same without Michael for me.Watching the Jackson brothers rehearse on the show and in the studio, it was so noticeable that without Michael, the group is really lacking something. It's not just about vocals either 'cause as I said Jermaine can sing very well, but no one in the group has that charisma and energy MJ did. He was a great frontman and simply cannot be replaced. Oh well, I suppose they have to move on of course. I do hope the new album is good and a success for them.
