What I was saying that one of the reasons why The Jacksons material didn't sell as much when Michael passed away was because it's not known to the public like his solo material or the Jackson 5 stuff.

If you looked at what I said, you'd see I wasn't talking about who made better music or who contributed to who's success. I was simply saying that the 1976-1981 material doesn't get enough recognition

When you posted the list of worldwide sales, I was pointing out WHY The Jacksons material didn't sell like J5 or MJ, that's all

Uh- do we live in the same world? confuse

Its ALLLL about J5/Jacksons/OTW/Thriller.

And then it stops there and trails into tabloid fodder. His later albums may have sold a lot but they're generally ignored by casual fans and in the critical realm. Earth Song and You Are Not Alone are critically maligned, but they're technically much bigger worldwide hits than Billie Jean based on chart histories. Go back and compare their yearly digital sales with Can U Feel It and Shake Your Body. Guess which was selling more? lol Explain to me how Bad can have 5 #1s on it and yet OTW could outsell it every single year since 1991? How can Like A Prayer be outselling True Blue when True Blue sold more than double LAP in its inital run? It has nothing to do with whcih album was initally more successful. Its because of hype, critical acclaim, and strong recurrent airplay. Rock With You alone got more recurrent airplay than all the songs from Bad, Dangerous, and HIStory combined lol. Shake Ya Boy and Can U feel It also got much more airplay than anything from Bad and Dangerous.

So The Jacksons are underrated in what way? By sales? Britney Spears sells more than Bob Dylan- do people think she's a better artist than he is? MJ's stint with his brothers is insignificant sales and money wise. That was my point. But what you're saying about being underrated or ignored is 100% false. If anything, its the other way around. Dangerous and HIStory can be considered underrated because of the mixed reviews and general dismissal by the general public as "when he lost it." The Jacksons can't be considered underrated because practcally every album review I read for Destiny and Triumph are absolutely glowing. Most people consider MJ at his vocal and creative peak at this point in time. Those albums have made a lot of critics lists. Have you seen Dangerous or HIStory on any all-time lists? Nope! lol

So the critics and the media say- buy J5, Jacksons, OTW & Thriller. And I study charts- you'll see that in the first couple of weeks after he died, OTW and Jacksons compilations were far outselling Bad and Dangerous. But then weeks after both Bad and Dangerous shot up and have been outelling OTW and Ultimate Jacksons ever since. The people made their choice. Nothing is underrated here. lol

Insignificant? The J5/Jacksons have sold more than 100 million of cds worldwide...more than your idol Janet!

WRONG!!!

Janet has sold about 130-140 million records worldwide. As an individual artist. Can't say the same about the Jackson 5

and btw you'd have to be an idiot to think the J5 sold 100 million fucking CDs!!! CDS!?!?! My ass!!! You mean records!! arrow

Janet is up there with female icons. Not internationally, but locally, she's up there. Janet's streak from 1986 to 2001 is absolutely unbeatable. See Michael's chart history and come back to me.

And in what universe did J5/Jacksons sell 100 million? confuse Stop with all these bloated MJ figures! He didn't sell 750 records! Thriller did not do 100 million! LOL @ Invincible 10 million. lol J5/Jacksons are at 45 million albums worldwide. Janet is at 75 million albums. That's 30 millionn more! So delusional. Hey squeeky-or-sleepy-or-whatever...don't live in your little fantasy world. Michael's body of work is MUCH stronger, better and more diverse than Janet's, Madonna's and Mariah's put together. Just admit it! You may like Janet's and Madonna's music more than you like Michael's and that should be respected. However, only a person totally removed from reality would say that Janet's, Madge's and Carey's body of work are stronger than Michael's.

Off the Wall alone is better than anything Janet, Madonna and Carey have done so far. The J5 and Jacksons era make Madonna's, Janet's and Carey's music look like absolute shit. And let's not even mention Thriller, Bad and Dangerous...it would be too much for you to handle, squeeky-or-sleepy-or-whatever. The thing is: Michael's worst album is better than anything your 3 female idols have EVER done. Was the dose of reality a bit too much, squeeky?

It's exactly the contrary!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you may well be mentally handicapped. Michael's body of work is MUCH MUCH MUCH better in everything than Janet's, Madonna's and Carey's. You are making a fool out of yourself. Michael's work is in the same league as McCartney's, Prince's and so on, while your 3 idols' work is in the same league as Britney's, Timberlake's, N'sync's, BSB's. I know FULL WELL that you know I am right, but you are so dependent on Janet and Madonna that you twist the facts in your own mind.

Just ask any mucis critic! Any person with some knowledge in music would laugh in your face for saying Janet's, Madonna's and Carey's bodies of work are better than Michael's. Is that so hard to understand or do you prefer to continue living in your little la-la land?

Girl, you are completely and utterly wrong. Your entire post is absolutely false and ridiculous. When it comes to sales and popularity NO ONE can beat Michael. APOM missed the top ten? The Bad album had 5 #1s (!), yet you chose to ignore that fact! According to RIAA and IFPN (and common sense and knowledge), Michael sold WAY more than Janet will ever sell. According to RIAA and IFPN, the J5/Jacksons sold WAY more than Janet ever will. But there's something that isn't even debatable: Michael's popularity. MJ was always more famous and popular than Janet (and any other artist in the world) and you KNOW THAT FULL WELL.
"Even Michael never ejoyed something like RN1814 in the US."- lol Even Michael haters would laugh at this. Are you that removed from reality? Let me be a little redundant: Michael was, is and will always be WAY MORE famous and popular than Janet. He reached a level of fame and popularity that no artist in the world has ever enjoyed. Not even The Beatles. Not even Elvis. Not even Frank Sinatra. Janet, on the other hand, is as famous/popular as N'sync or Justin Timberlake. She isn't one third of what her brother was, is and will be and, when it comes to popularity and sales figures, you know DAMN WELL, that she can't even be put in the same sentence as Michael Jackson. YOU KNOW THAT DAMN WELL. Sorry for the reality check! It may be too much for you to handle but Michael is MUCH MUCH MUCH SUPERIOR than Janet, Madonna and Mariah IN EVERYTHING. And guess what? Your three idols agree with me.

TMZ spoke with a rep for A&E, who confirmed the offer (for a 2nd season) and told us the network would gladly have MJ's male siblings back for another round of "The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty" -- which airs its last episode this Sunday 1/17/10.

But there's one problem: we're told the brothers haven't responded to the offer yet.

In my humble opinion, Madonna, Janet and Mariah have ZERO talent and hire good producers in order to sell them Macmusic. And, guess what? Not only do I think that but most agree with me. Get it, now? Did I make it clearer to you?

Still, these three have no commercial power. At least, this equals their talent. And you know that DAMN WELL.

So? confuse

First of all- The Beatles are more popular than Michael by far. So he is #2, not #1.

Second- you are talking about 2 different things right now. I said J5/The Jacksons are not significant sales wise. I never said Michael was insignificant! I never said Janet was bigger than Michael- you brought that up, not me! lol Janet has sold more records than J5/Jacksons. They were not as successful as people here want to pretend they were. The bulk of Michael's prominance, fame, and sales comes from his solo career, not whatever he had with his brothers. This is a Jacksons thread, and I noticed a lot of people here think The Jacksons could be wealthy off of royalties. I just posted numbers to prove that whatever money they have- it is certainly not from J5/Jacksons money. Its Michael's solo career money. I would say Janet as well... but we all know she doesn't put up with that shit. She's too smart to let her family leech off of her. Unlike a certain someone. Bles him, though! lol
