Perhaps if they had worked together more without Michael, his absence wouldn't be so difficult to overcome now. Outside of diehards it's going to be hard to get anyone's attention especially emerging again in their 50s. Instead of trying to recapture the magic of what they were, maybe they could reform in a new direction. But all 4-5 have to want it bad enough.

Luckily for their sake, Jermaine wasn't a part of the group on those albums. As a lead vocalist and being older than Michael he probably got used to running things a bit. Plus he was more used to being on his own.

Now people just laugh at them but it's gotta be hard to have start from where they came from and then be overlooked as if they didn't have the same beginnings. Altho part of it may have been their own doing by not continuing on and maybe their father was discouraging to them. So many groups have been able to go on even on oldies circuits and maintain some level of success but they didn't lose their (superstar) lead singer or if they did, they still kept at it in some way. Also, very few started as kids and that's also something to consider. Maybe it's time for the next generation. And if Jermaine is so eager, let him try to have his solo career again.

This might be a test for them too. The finality and reality of Michael not being there, not even so much as their lead singer but as their brother. Someone to collaborate, bounce ideas off of or even butt heads with. He is not going to walk into the studio with all that energy and love and give feedback or direction or simply bob his head and snap his fingers. I can't imagine what that might be like. although amy osbourne declined to appear on the family's show, they routinely referred to her existence (most hysterically when kelly was upset that amy apparently made an gynecological exam for appointment for her! too funny!) so why don't the brothers even talk about randy?

well, i believe randy made the decision waaaaayyyy before mj's death not be apart of this *and* there's probably some contractual prohibition on the brothers from even mentioning his name.

still, to the extent that at least randy and jackie had a working relationship in the jacksons, it would be cool to see that dynamic at work.
