Lol, Jermaine is the one that you love to hate. Well at least I do anyway . Jermaine is talented and everything, but he is such an attention whore not to mention a total drama queen as well. Tito and Marlon are my faves, but I have to say that the show wouldn't be half as entertaining without Jermaine. Oh man..... At first I was distracted by the Victory Tour footage (I proved A LOT of people wrong who said there's no great quality footage of the tour in the vaults) then I listened to what he said. I literally had to pause the show and take time to breathe. That becomes cristal clear when listening to these early recordings of Jermaine's voice before it changed. The same Katherine who said that Michael was afraid Latoya would outshine him! The same Katherine who said Michael was afraid that Latoy's talent would outrank his! Yes, you are allowed to laugh your ass off! Apparently, Latoys, with all her AMAZING talent (), was Michael's biggest nightmare. In fact, he checked under his bed, every night, to see if Toy Toy, The Pope Of Pop, was there...to haunt him with all her talent! Why are you so defensive? I don't know weather Katherine said that about Toy but even if she did it doesn't change anything. Just because a person is wrong about one thing it doesn't mean that everything coming from their mouth is false. I simply said that to point out how similar Jermaine's and Michael's voices were before they hit puberty. That stands on it own just by listening to the recordings regardless of what Katherine said anyway.

I simply responded to the poster who wondered weather Jackie was creative. My point was to display that Jackie had a hand in many songs they wrote. I named those songs out of memory just to make a point. It's true that most of them were co-written but it's impossible to know who wrote excactly what. However Jackie wrote Your ways himself which is one of my favorite gems. He wrote or co-wrote 5 songs on Triumph. Michael wrote or co-wrote 6 songs on Triumph. Randy co-wrote 5 songs on Triumph. Tito co-wrote 1 song on Triumph and Marlon wasn't invovled in the songwriting at all on that album. I think that is enough to say that Jackie was creative. Were the songs spectacular? IMO every song on Destiny and Triumph was spectacular. I've also come to believe that Jackie was very much involved in writing Can you feel it. Michael clearly states Jackie wrote it with him in the book Moonwalk. Jackie recently said "really? I wrote that one" in an interview when the interviewer said that Can you feel it was his favorite. Also I remember reading a couple of years ago in the media that Jackie had not recieved royalties from Michael for the song at the time as he should. In addition to this I favor Jackies contributions on Victory. The only songs I find it worth listening to on that album are Jackie's two songs and Randy's One more chance. I don't care much for the rest of that album. I stand corrected regarding Destiny though. I should have checked the album credits. Jackie was involved in 4 out of 8 songs on that album but that isn't too bad either. Credit where credit is due. IMO Jackie is one of the strongest songwriters of the brothers but his voice is only decent and not suited for lead vocals. His falsetto is OK but his head voice lacks power and range.

True what you say. However judging by Jermaine's output as a songwriter I'd also say that Jermaine is one the best songwriters out of the brothers. He didn't contribute to the classic Jacksons sound though since he wasn't a member during the Jacksons when "it counted" so to speak. Michael said in his talks with the ghostwriter of Moonwalk that a problem for Jermaine was that he didn't have enough self-belief. He said that Jermaine was "always letting outside influences change what style and beauty he's created...It always ends up not being his creation and changed in some type of way." This makes me believe that Michael had respect for Jermaine's talent as a songwriter but that he felt he relied too much on outside influences instead of his own talent. I also think part of the problem is that Jermaine probably have been obsessed with geting a hit since Thriller and him leaving Motown for Arista. He'll probably take anything if it gives him a hit. Problem with the other brothers is that they probably are more lost than ever about what direction to take. They've been gone from the scen and the studio for many years and the captain of the ship, the one who knew what directon to take is now no longer with us.

You must be mentally handicapped. I never denied Jackie was a creative person. I just refused to give him all the credit, like you were doing. You were saying Jackie WROTE the song "Can You Feel It" (for example) when this song was CO-WRITTEN by Jackie AND Michael. Yet, you realized I was right (Jackie can't get all the credit) and, immediately, twisted and distorted everything I said. Your jeau de vive quickly became a "poor Jackie" fest, and you know that damn well. The thing is: I just stated facts and, if you can't handle them, then go cry far away, because the "poor me" fest doesn't go with me. Jackie didn't receive royalties from Michael? Perhaps you should realize that Triumph was a favor Michael did to his brothers. He could just have done another solo album, but instead, he chose to do his brotehrs a favor and, eventually, recorded Triumph. Let's not even pretend we don't know that the brothers were dependent on Michael. They needed Michael. Michael didn't need them. They needed Michael to continue their careers and to put money in their bank accounts. Michael coulb be investing in becoming an even bigger solo star, since he didn't need his brothers and the public wanted him to go solo, but instead, he chose to, once again, help his brothers. The same can be applied to the Victory and Triumph Tours and Victory album. You know full well that Michael was doing his brothers a FAVOR by recording and performing with them. Just like you know damn well who put food on Jackie's table, clothes on his closet, who paid his Ferraris, who paid his panties, who paid even the most miserable lettuce he ate, who paid his kids' school. YOU know that DAMN well. So, the "Michael owes his brothers money" excuse doesn't go with me. In fact, it's exactly the contrary but the debt is too high to be paid. Michael's siblings would have to live another 20 lives in order to pay what they owe their brother. But, guess what? Michael didn't ask for anything in return. [Edited 1/6/10 13:48pm]
