Marlon seems more of a producer. Yesterday, you see him drumming the sounds with his mouth. The tracks he wrote for Destiny and Triumph were omitted. So were many of his tracks for Victory.

Hell, but he could get his music recorded by legends like Barry White and Betty Wright and his baby sis.

When artists find their song a lot of the material sounds alike including a lot of Jackson songs. I've always loved "Body". shrug I don't know why everyone rags on it so much. That song and "Torture" were the last songs to capture that classic Jackson sound.

The video sure. All the Jacksons videos suck. shrug The song sounds like the Jacksons. The vocals have more energy and personality than anything that Jackie or Randy sang lead on. I've NEVER cared for "Can You Feel It" and laugh at Randy's poor vocal imitation of Michael, trying to sound all compassionate but coming of like doody

It's all a matter of opinion. Though, so it's all good.

i think it's both. as i posted before, in order for jermaine to "shine" in this series, we have to go back to the jacksons circa 1969. the group that emerged from the ashes of the motown 'hit machine' was several times removed from the j5, but jermaine has nothing to do with ANY of that. in order for jermaine to be a part of this series, the jacksons have to be downplayed and the j5 have to be played up. randy can't be a part of that group dynamic or the series b/c he was never part of the j5 (formally) and the producers want to focus on the original lineup for the familiarity, since most people who aren't fans only really remember cute little mj and his brothers from the early 70s and probably couldn't tell you the difference between the j5 and the jacksons.

in addition, why would randy want to be a part of this series where his contributions to the jackson 'dynasty' will be marginalized? he was a very integral part of the jacksons continued success as a group and along with mj and jackie wrote some good material for them. the other brothers, particularly jackie, must know this and like vainandy posted a ways back, why can't randy and jackie come up with material for the group just like they did before?

I've always notice that Jackie & Randy were the strongest links when it came to composing that Jacksons sound with OR without Michael.

Vainandy was damn right for asking that question.

That's exactly why Michael is credited in every Jacksons classic song, isn't it? I want to see you contradicting me, knowing full well you know I am right.

Jackie:
can you feel it
Your ways
Walk right now
Time Waits for no one
Wait
Wondering Who
Torture
He was also supposedly involved in the songwriting of almost all songs on Destiny.

Surprise, surprise! Someone's about to burst your bubble!
Can You Feel It was written by Jackie AND Michael and arranged by both as well.
Walk Right Now was written by Jackie AND Michael AND Randy.
Times W F N O was written by Jackie AND Randy.
Wait and Wondering who were also co-written by Jackie AND someone else.
"He was also supposedly involved in the songwriting of almost all songs on Destiny. "....NOT. lol Amazing to see how you distort and twist everything!
Check the album credits...Jackie co-wrote, with all the brothers, 4 songs. Oops!

Katherine once said that Michael always used to imitate jermaine when he was little. That becomes cristal clear when listening to these early recordings of Jermaine's voice before it changed.

The same Katherine who said that Michael was afraid Latoya would outshine him! The same Katherine who said Michael was afraid that Latoy's talent would outrank his!

Yes, you are allowed to laugh your ass off!
Apparently, Latoys, with all her AMAZING talent (lol), was Michael's biggest nightmare. In fact, he checked under his bed, every night, to see if Toy Toy, The Pope Of Pop, was there...to haunt him with all her talent!

actually, i think i answered my own question above. the reason you're not going to see the 'j4' writing their own stuff is because the j4 never did. it was the jacksons - with randy - who wrote their stuff. mj, randy and jackie were the core songwriters of the jacksons, and with two of the strongest elements missing, jackie is on his own, creatively. not a good place to be. that's why they need outside help now.
