Meshell Ndegeocello:I need help with my collection!! Help! I need help completing my Meshell collection. I have all of her official stuff and a few live cds from 1996 & 2000 as well as a 2004 dvd. But there are still holes in my collection! After some research, I discovered songs that I hadnt heard like "Quentin Mack", "A different Girl every night", "Top Shelf", "The National Anthem", etc, etc! Can any of my fellow orgers/music lovers help me out, or point me in the right direction? ANY help is greatly appreciated! Feel free 2 org note me. Thanks in advance!

She was on John Mellencamp's remake of "Wild Night" too. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

She's on a couple of Basement Jaxx tracks from the Kish Kash album, I believe.
She was also playing bass, and rapping on Madonna's "I'd Rather Be Your Lover" from the Bedtime Stories album.

I just remembered "Poison Ivy" from the Batman and Robin soundtrack. 1997

she also did a really rocking cover of "fantasy" for a tribute CD, and recently did a cool song called "water" for some soundtrack. "compared to what" is bangin'.
her "cloud nine" with the funk brothers is unbeweavable. as is her cover of dolly parton's "two doors down", my mom was blown away by that one. i agree with the poster above me, the "poison ivy" cover, produced by goh hotoda (who is so freaking talented and underrated) is lovely and very lush. i am surprised she has not been tapped for lilith fair 2010 yet. she was the only reason i went bitd, but hey they got erykah so its all good. i remember her doing the bass line on sheryl crow's "there goes the neighborhood", you know the funky bit on the cd, and just rocking it out of the world. that is one of the things i love about me'shell. she just contributes, doesn't really promote anymore. its like if ya want it bad enough, you can find it. i think of it as digital crate digging

because i adore her, i wanted to pass on that me'shell has posted full length acoustic show on meshell.com and on youtube. i didn't see this posted elsewhere and i'm sure someone will "correct" me if it was.
its really quaint, taped in a record store (remember record stores??? me'shell somehow found one!) my favorite part is when she says "i wanna kill you all" in the opener (blood on the curb) and the white suburban couple in the background immediately turn around and walk away. she makes me sad in the most beautiful ways sometimes. i would love to give her another hug someday.
