Sylvers Three Classic Albums Now Available on iTunes Just to notify you Sylvers fans out there, the Sylvers' first three classic albums are now available at iTunes for the first time. I just brought II and III and I really dig them. I wish they had New Horizons available, but it's cool. III is one of the funkiest albums I've ever heard.

It appears iTunes/Apples used bootleg copies (not master recordings) which I'm kinda shock they would do. I can hear record pops, damn, they could've asked me for my records, they are very clean. I'm not trippen over the price $1.29 per song and $6.00 bucks for the complete albums, but if your going to charge your premium rate ($1.29 per song vs. .99 cents for most oldies) the album/songs quality should matched the price. I guess the demand has been so they realize they can make more money.
A blogger had mentioned the master recordings had been lost in a fire, this lends crendence that story may be true. But beggars can't be choosers, I'm glad they're up. Did you notice they had Foster Sylvers 2 solo albums as well? http://edmundsylvers.blogspot.com/ ===== [Edited 12/6/09 16:56pm]

I'm kinda disappointed that these aren't the masters, but I've been waiting to hear these for a long time. Check me out and add me on:

You know me so well. Here's the link to the blog I mentioned: http://edmundsylvers.blogspot.com/ I wrote all the record companies including Apple/iTunes or should I say the 4 record conglomerates and asked if they would rerelease their respective music of The Sylvers discography to Cd or through the digitial stores. I don't think my letters swayed them at all but I was shocked still to see the 3 classic albums up for sale on iTunes a month ago... they aren't being sold anywhere else. I'm going to have to go back and find which of the 4 companies owns Pride/MGM music and thank them. LittleBLUECorvette said Terrible, what else was lost in that fire.
LBC, I don't know I shudder to think.

Oh snap! I just looking for this song! This indie hip hop producer Brandun Deshay used it as a sample in one of his songs "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I've noticed album pops, not very good sound quality (which sounds like they're direct vinyl to mp3 conversions and not from the original master tapes) when previewing songs on iTunes & Amazon MP3 too. It's mostly by unknown independent labels though and not the major labels.
