Dan Hartman

Rather than jack Timmy84's thread on the Dan Hartman tune Vertigo/Relight My Fire, I figured i'd just do one related to the large body of work he's been involved with.

So here's a quick jaunt through a few of the musical lives of Dan Hartman.

Edgar Winter Group (They Only Come Out At Night - 1972)

...Free Ride (writer/bass/guitar)

Todd Rundgren - (Initiation - 1975)

...Fair Warning (bass)

From his first solo album Images (1976)

...If Only I Were Stronger

From the Relight My Fire album (1979)...

...Hands Down (Stevie Wonder on harmonica and Edgar Winter on sax)

Loleatta Holloway (1980)...

...Love Sensation (writer/producer/musician)

From his 6th solo album of the same name (1984)...

...I Can Dream About You

James Brown (Gravity - 1986)...

...Goliath (producer/co-writer/keys)

Nona Hendryx (Female Trouble - 1987)...

...Baby Go-Go (producer)

Joe Cocker (1987)...

...Unchain My Heart (exec. producer)

Tina Turner (Foreign Affair - 1989)...

...Steamy Windows (producer, keys, guitar)

Paul Young (1991)...

...Don't Dream It's Over (producer - one of the last projects he worked on)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

He put in some work under a number of hats and this is just an overview.
I didn't include any of the soundtracks he was involved in.

Love, love, love that song! I remember hearing that song on the radio here in the U.S. all the time.

Another Dan Hartman song that I love, love, love is, "I Can Dream About You".
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Oh my damn, Dan Hartman passed away in 1994. sad I had no idea he was gone. RIP.

Hartman died of brain tumor resulting from AIDS on March 22, 1994 in his home in Westport, Connecticut at the age of 43.

WOW. There is no other word to describe that video. Just:

WOW.

I didn't know they played the percussion part that way but now it makes perfect sense. Pure genius.

Thank you so much for posting that!
