http://www.imeem.com/arti...d-forever/ I'm gonna have to go with Heatwave on this one. [Edited 11/23/09 18:59pm] White Americans, what? Nothing better to do? Why don't you kick yourself out? You're an immigrant too. -White Stripes

I love Luther, but leave a classic alone. Just like when he and Mariah recorded "Endless Love". Meh. I also don't wanna hear anyone else doing "Never Too Much", or "Hear and Now". |

Heatwave...Luther's version was cool but I gotta go with Heatwave's. That's a classic. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Johnny Wilder JR's vocal adlibs towards the end of the song can't be matched.

HEATWAVE!!! Sorry I never liked Luther's version, and I would purposely change the station when it came on. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

Damn Vain,...a BILLION?! Hell yeah. Heatwave's version has that sexy "bring a stranger home at 3 a.m. and sleep with them" sound that I love in slow jams from the 1970s on up until 1984. Luther's has that adult contemporary "listen to it with your family on a dull sunny Sunday afternoon" feel to it that I hate in slow songs from 1985 up to the present. Andy is a four letter word.

This finally puts a face to a voice for me and I thank you. This was a great live version. Back when singers really had to sing!!

definitely the Heatwave version.Luther was a master at remaking old songs, but this is one that he should have left alone. You can't improve a perfect song like "Always And Forever".

Heatwave, I really love this song. Luther is master of slow songs, but Heatwave
is beautiful on this one

Although it's truly one of the most overplayed songs of all time, the Heatwave version is still a classic... ... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

Heatwave.
Rod Temperton was great. Also loved Boogie Nights and Grooveline. He also wrote some of MJ's best songs too.... such as Rock with You,Off the Wall,Burn This Disco Out,Baby Be Mine,The Lady in My Life and a little song called Thriller

That doesn't even sound like a white man's name, lol. White Americans, what? Nothing better to do? Why don't you kick yourself out? You're an immigrant too. -White Stripes

What kind of question is this? Heatwave, of course. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

While I do approve of Luther's "Superstar" more than the Carpenters, there's no question that he should've left this song alone... • Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Exactly. He took "Superstar" and made it his own.He wasn't able to do that with "Always And Forever",a song that is already perfect to begin with.

And lets not forget that Johnnie Wilder and Keith Wilder are from Dayton, Ohio!
I remember the day when Johnnie's Jaguar got T-Boned a few blocks from my home and paralyzed him for life. Truly messed up. Upper persuasion for the lower invasion

Luther sure didn't make "Endless Love" his own lol I think the ONLY covers Luther made his own were the following: "Superstar" "A House is Not a Home" "If This World Were Mine" "If Only For One Night" That's about it and even with "If This World...", Luther's version was fantastic but now I'm in with Marvin's original lol [Edited 11/26/09 12:09pm] [Edited 11/26/09 13:16pm]
