This song almost became a single, but Motown changed their mind at the last minute. They chose "Just To Be Close To You" as a single instead.

This is my song!!!!! It's just so deep. I remember when my great-grandfather passed away I played this song over and over. It was the one song at that time that really "speaking" to me.

I also had it on my voicemail for a time.

really? are you sure? cause i used to hear this on the radio all the time when it was out. they even recording a special intro for the station, 1580 kday in los angeles.

either song, though, certainly brings back really, really good memories. music

It's hard to believe but "High On Sunshine" was cancelled as a single. It still got alot of radio airplay though.A similiar situation happened a year later with "Zoom".It didn't become a single but still received tremendous airplay.

hells, yeah. as i said, there was a special intro for it for on kday, where they sang the call letters in the opening bars of the song. wow, i never would have guessed it wasn't a single. the power of special requests, maybe? (can people even do that anymore?)

i always liked zoom better than easy; zoom is on my shuffle. music

Yep, I remember that. 1580 KDAY was one of the stations I always listened to back then. I dig this song but I agree withcha regarding "Zoom". "Zoom" is especially bangin' along with my fave cut by them "This Is Your Life".

I think both of these songs would have been HUGE hits if released as singles, especially "Zoom".It would have followed "Easy",which was a massive hit on the pop and R&B charts.I know it would have been just as big.

Yeah i was actually surprised Zoom wasn't a single. What marketing
exec at Motown laid that egg? Loved High on Sunshine. This was one
of my Uncle's favorite(R.I.P)who introduced me to the Commodores.

Yeah, how could they not release a song like "Zoom" as a single? confuse Makes no sense.Thank God that radio stations played it anyway, giving it the attention it deserved.
