It sure was! Thanks for jogging my memory. smile

"Just Wanna Hold You" was the smooth ballad Jasmine released as a follow-up. I used to know someone with her album, and she used to play that track frequently.

Ahhh Miki Miki Miki,,,'sigh' yo sho picked a name that I didn't hear in a looong time.

I have her Billie Holiday tribute LP and her GH,,,daymn now thats what I can safely say a STRONG vocalist. I love her "Come Share My Love"

I heard that her crib got burned in 2001 with all the awards and the platinum plates. They interviewed her in S2S magazine and she said that she's happy that the hous got burned becoz it used 2 remind her about her "Platinum" years when she ain't a star anymo'.

The Jones Girls! Every so often, I will play "Nights Over Egypt" and reminisce.

oh yeah i haven't heard them in years my dad has them on record. im given away my age here but that song was my favorite.

Shirley(The LEAD SINGER) passed out last year,,,she'll be missed.

I love "nights over Egypt" and "Keep It Coming". When they keep praising TLC/SWV(sistas with voices) I'll be like "ya'll neva heard the sistas with REAL voices"

Miki Howard! OMG! How did I forget her? She was my girl! I could totally see Eve playing her in the "Miki Howard Story." wink (I'm talking in terms of physical appearance not pipes.) I loved her version of "Until You Come Back to Me."

A few more:

Joyce Sims
Neneh Cherry
Luscious Dame
Candi Staton

I remember seeing Jasmine Guy on Arsenio doing that song...she could dance pretty good, and ended her routine by swinging one of her legs up and pointing up into the air (while still standing)...must be some kind of ballet move or something...bu it impressed the HECK outta me!!!

I have her album (on vinyl)...wasn't bad at all.

What happened to Shannon Let The Music Play and Stacy Hearts or something 2 Of Hearts/ 2 Hearts that beat as one. And what about Bonnie Tyler Total Eclipse Of The Heart not R&B but she was popular. How about Stacy Lattisaw? Ashford and Simpson? Peaches and Herb? Where is Kid Creole and the Coconuts and Cotti Mundi? I know they are Male? Nona Hendryx definitely. Jane Child yeah, remember her nose chain and braids before ANI DI FRANCO. Bernadette from KLYMAXX and The Pointer Sisters? Where are the Pointer sisters? Anita? Bonnie? June? All of them..Jump!!!

LOL...you're talking about Stacy Q.,who sang that 1986 song "Two Of Hearts"..."Two of Hearts, two hearts that beat as one,two of hearts,I need you,I need you"smile

Stacy Lattisaw quit the music business in 1990,and she now sings gospel.

I saw The Pointer Sisters the other night on that "Disco Ball" special, but it looks like one of the sisters is missing (they had a replacement singer).

The Stevie Wonder thread got me thinking about his ex-wife Syreeta Wright and former back-up singer Deniece Williams.

Was the missing sister June? I'll never forget the video to "So Excited." There's a scene where June is taking a bubble bath. There's a brief shot of her soapy beaver! lol

Anyone remember when they used to dress and wear their hair 1940's-style?
