A few more forgotten bands...

***The Dazz Band---"Now that you can see,how you groove with me,what else can I do to get closer to you? We both are here to have big fun,so Let It Whip".I actually heard this song on the way to work today.

***Ozone---These guys were Teena Marie's backing band, and in late 1981,they released their own album, with production assistance from Teena.Remember the jams "Gigolette" and "Strut My Thang"?

***Club Nouveau---You guys remember their 1986 debut album.I used to play it to death. They had one hit after another..."Jealousy","Situation Number 9","Lean On Me","Why You Treat Me So Bad",and "Heavy On My Mind".And I was crazy about the album's lone slow jam,"Let Me Go".

Both Ozone and Dreamboy had a killer slow jam. Dreamboy with I Promise I Do Love You and Ozones I think was Called Over and Over? It was on their LP "Send It" with the girl licking the letter on the cover. Corrected me if I got the name of the song wrong.

***Dreamboy---These guys were total Prince clones. In 1983,they burst on the scene with the ballad "Don't Go",followed it up with the funky "Walk The Streets".

Club Nouveau: I saw them last year at an old school concert which included The Gap Band, Chaka Khan, Teena Marie, S.O.S. Band, and Zapp. That was one of the best concerts ever.

The Stylistics: LOOOVVVEEE them!!! I saw them perform at a small supper club a couple of years ago. I think there's only one original member, but I'm not sure. The falsetto would get to me every time. "Hurry Up This Way Again," "You Are Everything," "Make Up to Break Up," "Stop, Look, Listen to Your Heart." I only have one of their greatest hits tapes. Does anybody know if they have a box set? I would definitely invest in that.

Slave: I was playing them practically every morning last year. "Weak in the Knees," and "A Touch of Love" were my jams.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."
