Was "Patience" George Michael's last album?

With MJ being gone, there is only Prince and George Michael left from the big 3 of my music universe anymore. That being said, Prince clearly has music pumping in his blood, good, so-so, or bad, it is all there. I don't worry about his output in the near future.

However, Patience dropped in 2004 and since then George has released a few tracks on his website. (Right bboy?) But aside from that, how can someone so talented not be USING it? If I had George's vocal talent there would be an album out tomorrow called, "George Michael Sings the Phone Book Volume 1." Let us not forget the follow-up I would do, "George Michael Sings the Newspaper Volume 2."

I posted this thread as seriously a question, was Patience it for George Michael and studio albums? Is there any word anywhere out there another album will come our way? I've heard some interesting thoughts in the past on the org that George's best work comes when he is dealing with pain or conflicted. Does this mean he has his sh*t together now since we HAVEN'T heard anything? Is he still talking about doing the online only music stuff?

Sure, I could check georgemichael.com but something tells me it won't give me the hard truth, that his fans, or people that follow him closely could tell me.

P.S.
Sorry if this thread seems random. It is approaching my George Michael
time of the year phase. November-January I usually find myself listing to
lots of GM. Not quite sure why it usually seems to fall on those months - but it does.

God i sure hope not. there are always rumours or hints that there's a new album. but who knows. he and Sade need a swift kick in the arse on releasing albums more frequently!!! mad

George is an incredible talent. my personal 'King of Pop' if you will. i don't think we've heard his last album. the guy went through a lot of stuff over the years. losing his boyfriend, then shortly after, his mother. the fight with Sony, etc. sadly it's almost understandable why he dove into drugs. sad
i went to his last concerts tour twice. and he still has the pipes. and better than any other male artst out today. i hope he can get through to the light in his personal life and career. it would be devastating if he were to suffer the same fate as some others we've lost.

I think George has gotten lazy these past couple of years (2005-2009). It's frustrating that he has these gifts but he isn't using them to the best of his abilities

and another thing that frustrating about George is his own hangups about his image in the earlier part of his career. He worked so hard to distance himself from the Wham! days then years later, tried to distance himself from Faith.... It's like he's unsure of what he wants to do and be

Last I heard was that he wasn't going to release physical CD's anymore, and opt for selling the music off of his website, and then the money would be given to charities, because he felt he already had more then enough money.

"Hey George! you can always send some of that useless cash my way! lol

George is never sure about what he wants to. I think it's the weed talking, otherwise he'd have an album out by now, lol

I thought about this part of what you said last night and again this morning bboy and I really think it is profound and the absolute truth. I wonder what that means he truly thinks about his past work, reflecting. I wish he would write a book or something. I'm sure the insight would be fascinating.

Thanks for sharing this fascinating look at his career.

He's writing his book at the moment so maybe he'll finally let us in on what's been going on

After Wham! broke up, he wanted to be rid of the whole image so he came up with "5 o'clock shadow, tight jeans, highlighted hair, leather coat" look of the Faith era, then he felt the image had gotten out of control and he wanted to be rid of that one, so when LWP came out, he cut his hair, started dressing differently, and refused to be in the videos

And remember during the Faith Tour and Cover To Cover tour, he basically wouldn't do any Wham! songs aside from I'm Your Man and Everything She Wants (and sometimes Freedom '84) but from Faith....the title track and Father Figure

A song from the unreleased LWP Vol.2 called "Disco" recently leaked but was taken off Youtube immediately

Yeah, I agree

I kinda wish there was more material out there from the Wham! period because 3 albums just ain't enought....but I don't think the public outside of Wham! and 80s pop fans would be interested in a album full of unreleased Wham! songs sad

I mean look at his catalog

1983-Fantastic
1984-Make It Big
1986-The Final/Music From The Edge Of Heaven
1987-Faith
1991-Listen Without Prejudice
1993-Five Live
1996-Older
1999- Songs From The Last Century
2004-Patience

like.....really? The man is so talented but damnit! mad

Faith but he was hotter in the Wham days. lol When I saw him with those earrings in both Wham and Faith eras, I wanted a piercing that big, lol.

I love George, but he really irritates me with his (lack of) release schedule.

The guy pissed and moaned for years about his deal with Sony (though ended up back on the label eventually). Don't know why the hell he was so fussed about it. he's only put out 2 real albums since then (18 years later!).

and he said Patience would be his last because he was throwing a hissy fit that it didn't sell that well. HELLO GEORGE, nobody's selling what they did 20 years ago. and are you REALLY doing it solely to top the charts and sell a bazillion records at this point? if so, then please, do stop, because your head is up your ass on that one.

plus, you know, if you could stay out of the men's room or put down the bong for 5 minutes, we'd LOVE to hear something new from you, instead of standards ablums and various incarnations of the same multi-disc greatest hits album decade after decade.

seriously. get it together.

but, um, cut back on the length of your next one, because Patience had some parts that really dragged (not to mention recycling singles from 2 years earlier).

George said he wouldn't release albums anymore because he had enough money. However, he is releasing his TwentyFiveLive tour in theaters, and on DVD in a week or two. I would imagine a CD will come along too of the show, but not sure.

Somehow, I think he'll ride the momentum and release another album. His release schedule has been flawed in it's sparsity, sometimes stunted by legal woes.

He frustrates me too with his incredible talent. Even Oprah said he's one of the best voices in the industry. Fine, he's made enough money, but let the fans enjoy your gift a bit more. Go independent, release stuff to the fans, or get some one off deals like Prince did w/ Columbia, EMI, etc. He has the fan base and the talent to do it.
