Mcalmont & Nyman - Glare

You may remember David Mcalmont (in the UK, at least) for the albums he did with Bernard Butler of Suede (Mcalmont & Butler), or his cover of Diamonds are Forever, or maybe only for his part in Prince's UK Hall of Fame film. He has a stunning voice, clearly inspired by our little man.

Anyhow, he's made an album with Michael Nyman, the modern classical composer (he did Jane Campion's 'The Piano' and a lot of Peter Greenaway films), and it's a rather wonderful work.

Imagine Prince went into a studio with Clare Fischer and Prince wasn't allowed to play anyting - they make an album.

Okay, it wouldn't sound just like this, but you get the idea.
