Do you think Lauryn Hill can make a comeback?

She definitely has the talent, but do you think she could mount a successful comeback like Maxwell or do you think it would fail miserably or would it be somewhere in between?

Definitely hope so. The Miseducation ... still remains one of my favourite albums.

Homer (to Marge): Oh my God, Michael Jackson just told me to shut up!

Crossing my fingers pray

However, I don't think she might want to come back in the 1st place. She's too much of sincere and genuine person to get her hands dirty from dealing with this business.

This is what made her get out in the 1st place, because she wouldn't maintain her sanity if she stayed.

I believe she didn't maintain that anyway and that's why she left.....

She might not really want to. Her focus appears to be on family at this time.

She's just been announced as headlining the raggamuffin festival here in NZ which is very interesting.
Has she performed anywhere else recently?
Wyclef is also playin the festival on the same day, I wonder if they've moved past their differences?

This woman has issues that far exceed her wanting or needing 2 make a musical comeback.

She needs 2 make a LIFE comeback.

I agree with you. I think Lauryn underestimated what the cost of fame would be, and she was not ready for it. Deep down inside she was struggling with the choice of having a normal life and fame.....She is STILL struggling, IMO.

Maxwell didn't make a comeback. He never left like Lauryn has. She's all wrapped up in that cult leader and his shit.

I think she could if she wanted to, BUT it would have to be on her own terms. I think her original deal with Sony would have to be drastically changed or go independent.

After the lawsuits over her ONE studio recording, I doubt she sees much point.

She's way to far gone mentally, I loved miseducation and I was so excited for that Fugees reunion a few years ago, but I just lost hope when I met her a few years ago, trying to talk to her was like talking to a baby.

People get sued all the time. When you are a celeb, it's normal. Why couldn't she
deal?

Oh my God, I'm glad some people here realize how mentally unstable she is. I keep tell my damn boyfriend that she is not gonna have a comeback anytime soon, I even tried to explain to him that she is mentally ill and does not want any help so there is no way she's gonna come back, at least not now. His response was "So, she can take some medcine or whatever and she need to get back with the others in the Fugees." wall err rolleyes Oh god, I was like what the fuck. falloff I keep telling him that thst shit will probably never happen and even if that was possible, she needs to get her life together.

Its almost as annoying to explain to my boyfriend why A Tribe Called Quest would probably never get back together, especially since Phife Dog is very ill (diabetes), something my boyfriend doesn't seem to understand. rolleyes

Hell here's a picture from about two years ago.

How was it like talking to a baby? I don't doubt it one bit, considering her current state but I am curious....

Exactly. Can you even sit there with a straight face and say he's in good condition to do anything if he and the others decided to make a comeback?

As much as I ADORE Ms.Hill, I don't want the Phyllis Hyman/Donny Hathaway scenario get repeated again sigh

With that said however, I just realized that most of my FAVE artists are mentally sick boxed

no. I remember when I first heard her and was in love. beautiful woman with a unique style, and a soulful voice.

Now, with hindsight, everytime I hear a song from her album on shuffle I quickly skip it.

Anyone got any comments on this? It's in February, not far away at all! Has she even performed at all in the last couple of years? Have any of you orgers seen her perform?
I'm almost tempted to go out of town to see her because she's a bit of a lege but reading these comments suggest it has no chance of not being a certain train wreck!

I've always heard and kinda assumed she's bi-polar. I wouldn't be surprised if either were true.
