I put this on my wishlist (just on it being an Angie album), listened to the samples then took it back off.
I'll pick it up used at some point.

I know thats your opinion. But I strongly disagree. All of her albums contain good material and are performed to excellence by Miss Stone. Her first release for Stax was damn good. This one she didn't do it quite right but still a hell of a lot better than the crap that's on the market now. Don't laugh at my funk

She said on Brian McKnight's show that this was the hardest project she's ever done. Especially since her father died while she was recording it. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I did NOT know about Angie Stone and D'Angelo!
Anyway, she's got a good voice and (more importantly) is comfortable in her own skin. That confidence is very sexy. This song is the JAM! By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

As far as staying true to R&B/soul, that's fine in the early 80s when it was still good. But far as staying true to R&B/soul from the 1990s to the present, that's the last thing I want to see. Hell, even country was better than R&B by then. Andy is a four letter word.
