I think Angie is very talented. I think she has done some really good songs (solo and her previous projects). My only problem with Angie is that her albums are so hit and miss.

Well I don't really care for her latest single so that counts me out on buying this album.

I'm not crazy about that either, but I heard "Maybe" and fell in love.

She also was on Brian McKnight's show this weekend (the television show) and Angie discussed her new project. She explained how her father died while she was recording this album. It was a very touching interview.

Well she was in the funk/rap group Sequence in 1979, their most popular song was "Funk You Right On Up". She was allegedly 18 then. She was born in December 1961.

Yeah, it seems like she should be about 55 or 60, but she's not.

There's WAY more to Angela Stone's reputation than just being "the one who robbed the cradle". The woman has an impressive discography, and she always managed to re-invent herself nod

Boring or not, you gotta give it to her for maintaining a longevity while she saw most of her peers going down.

I didn't mean that to sound harsh. maybe it's the production. Take a song like "Everyday" from Black Diamonds. If you listen to the actual singing, she isn't doing a lot of it. IT's all layered to sound like there is more going on than there is. I'm not saying she isn't talented or that she can't sing but I think at least in production style, this is what helps her.

Mmhmm nod

She's guilty of picking out producers who wouldn't compliment her voice. Coz the stuff she did with Lenny Kravits and Gerry DeVeaux def did.

I know it aint her fault but I went on Angie Revolt when I couldn't upload one of her last CDs to my computer due to that protection software built into the CD. If that crap aint on there anymore, I'll get back on the train.

LOVE Black Diamonds. That is a GREAT album :nod;

Where have you been? They have a son together, Michael. In the Send it on video, that little boy D'Angelo is putting the hat on is Michael. Angie says D dumped her due to industry and label pressure, saying they kept telling her he should be with a model type chick instead of her.
Proof that hollywood has been controlling many celebrities love life for years. No wonder many of those relationships don't last.

That protection software was on her last J album. You can rip the files from a mac and they work fine.

You didn't get in on the replacement that Sony/BMG did not too long after that cd came out? I ended up getting replacement cds for 2 of my cds and they gave me like 3 or 4 full album downloads through Sony's music store. The downloads were great, but you could only listen to them through Sony's software. I had to end up burning audio cds and re-ripping them to mp3 to listen to them in iTunes.

Also, Angie is no longer with Sony/BMG. She's on Stax/Concorde.

Not really. She may have started making mid-tempo songs, but at least she stayed a true r&b/soul artist. She didn't attempt to do the pop thing.

To me she is all that, they girl is so soulful! I don't care for how her body is posed for that picture. That picture is photoshopped to death.

She recorded a couple of excellent albums with Vertical Hold back in the 90's. I thought her first U.S. solo, "Black Diamond", was exceptional. But, it all seemed to go downhill after that. Every album has gotten progressively worse.

I know thats your opinion. But I strongly disagree. All of her albums contain good material and are performed to excellence by Miss Stone.
