Have you forgotten that her singles always used to get remixes, and now stores no longer carry CD singles (by anyone)?
Yes, I'm aware of that. I have quite a bit of her remixed singles. But the article stressed that they were remixing all of the tracks on her latest album plus potentially adding new tracks to it. To me that smacks of trying to repackage the album instead of just releasing a remix album. They would need something not only new but something that cant her seen and played, since MC is all about the numbers, its going to have to be something that will sell bigger than the album did to warrant re-packaging the same album "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

She has been working on this remix album since the original Memoirs cames out. She was trying to be all hush hush about it but kept dropping hints over the past few months.
Just recently, she revealed she did a remix of "The Impossible" with Jodeci (yes, all of them). I don't mind a remix ep/album from anyone- hell even just an EP of new songs. I just hate when artists and label try to make fans re-buy the same album. That's greedy and pretty much telling fans they were stupid for buying the album the first time. What would you call those Obsessed remixes? I haven't heard them. Are they like house tracks or Euro dance techno type? Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

On the contrary, I can't imagine remixes commissioned for any past single release were ordered any further ahead than this project is. Instead of selling 6 different maxi-singles (which are dead), Mariah and the collaborators will be delivering the remixes for an LP. Do you know what I mean? What's the difference if it is for a maxi-single they have lined up for 2010 (which don't exist anymore), or an album? the difference is, in the past, she actually had some decent songs to release as singles and remixes. you think that a remix album for this set is going to by anything more than trying to polish a turd by throwing some verses by rappers on them?

Mariah needs to realize this is not 1995 or 1996 or 1997 anymore. She's been stuck in the '90s for a long time it ain't funny! Change your game plan MARIAH!

A remix album for an album nobody bought in the first place. Brilliant business model right there, Mariah. Since she didn't have any rent-a-rappers on the original, my only guess is that this project exists solely to find a place for them.

SO Memoirs has just come out here in the UK, and like a good lamb i waited untill release day
I must say I'm really liking it so far, well the beginning and the ending; the middle part just seems like a lot of filler. Am loving: Betcha Gon' Know H.A.T.E.U (apart from that stupid noise that sounds like a turkey which plays constantly in the background) Candy Bling (Great song, stupid title) Ribbon It's a Wrap Angels Cry anguishing IWKWLI

Imagining a very housey Obsessed remix by David Morales using only "You're delusional, you're delusional" I would prefer that. I listened to the remixes and don't care for them. It certainly wasn't me who told you about it. I love the Morales remixes. That's what I wanted for this disc. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I didn't buy the deluxe version of Mimi, but I will buy Memoirs Remixed. I'll buy it too. I like her remixes because she usually goes back in the studio and tranforms the songs. I can't wait to to hear that The Impossible remix- "Forever your ladyyyy...layin' in the bed bumpin' Jodieci."

What would you call those Obsessed remixes? Those arent the re-sung remixes, just sped up vox. I was hoping every song was going to be redone and re touched with some different music or something kind of like what Prince did with the Rave In2 album, however I see that's not going to happen.
