So I sat myself down and listened to this ASK RUFUS album

So Superfunkyorgergrinder said that I should pull this out and take another hit on this album....I never listened to it on headphones. I only bought it because I was on a Chaka craze @ the time and I did not have Hollywood at all so I bought it @ the weka sto. for 3.95 back in 2004.

I tried to listen to it once or twice, but I never sat and heard the things she was saying...or heard any catchy choruses so I kind of just sat on it...but at least it did have a cool poster I put on my wall.

At Midnight **** Just a nice jam..the closing works good.
Close The Door ***** I LOOOOVE this song. I cannot say how much beauty this song has. Especially the closing of the song....'till you close the door / to giving!'
Earth Song *** To be honest I rememebr it was nice but cannot reacall it to memory. Must not have had a lasting effect
Everlastig Love ***** classic
Hollywood ***** classic
Magic In Your Eyes **** Beautiful, the layers are great and Chaka's voice is on point.
Better Days ** Can't remember much from this one either but it was just aiight. Mary J sampled this on one of her interludes on Love & Life. I don't know...just the music was kind of bland I'll give it another go.
Egyptian Song *****. This one gave me CHILLS. Claire's strings on the closing and through the song just makes this imaginative trip even better. It's haunting, and sad in some senses. The lyrics call on the anchient civilization; a tribute to it's beauty and mystery. A perfect ending.

This is a great album. One has to be in a open mood to listen and get the best of it though

Thanks

"The Earth Song" and "The Egyptian Song" are my two favorite songs she recorded with the group.
