Brian Singer was not involved until 1996 and had turned it down several times prior. @2:43 You mad? clearly, she's wrong, because nobody had ever even heard of Bryan Singer when she was on the janet. tour. and AGAIN, i say, he wasn't even involved with the project until late 1996. i had read reports back in the VERY early 90's that SHE was interested in the role, but the movie never got off the ground at that time. he may have met with her, per her management's or the studio's request, but she was not his first choice. Bassett was.

You said he was offered the role of directing the movie X-men BEFORE 1996 so he well could've offered the role as Storm to Janet after the janet. tour and before the TVR album. This is just one of your many attempts of throwing shade at Janet. [Edited 11/29/09 15:20pm]

Development for X-Men began as far back as 1989 with James Cameron and Carolco Pictures. The film rights went to 20th Century Fox in 1994. Scripts and film treatments were commissioned from Andrew Kevin Walker, John Logan, Joss Whedon and Michael Chabon. Singer signed to direct in 1996, with further rewrites by Ed Solomon, Singer, Tom DeSanto, Christopher McQuarrie and David Hayter. Start dates kept getting pushed back, while Fox decided to move X-Men's release date from December to July 2000. Filming took place from September 22, 1999 to March 3, 2000, primarily in Toronto. X-Men was released to positive reviews and was a financial success, spawning the X-Men film series and a reemergence of superhero films.
Angela Bassett was offered the role of Storm but she turned it down. Jada Pinkett Smith and Rachel Luttrell were considered for the role.

I wonder about the situation between Janet and Halle, you have to admit this is really strange. Janet talked nothing BUT doing a film about Dorothy.

Since talent is subjective and is not measurable by any standards, yes, it most certainly is an opinion. This is not a difficult concept. Yeah, that's why sports leagues draft players and don't pick eligible names out of a hat . . . . I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Janet was the original choice but she had to choose btwn being in a movie or supporting The Velvet Rope album. And she chose her music. 'The Velvet Rope' was well before the first X-Men movie. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
