Dansa turned me on to this a few years ago. Womack & Womack's "Baby I'm Scared Of You" is worth the price of the entire set.

Then you'll love this album(where its originally from)...

I might be mistaken, but I think he mixed the whole album hmmm although if you want to hear some REAL kick ass Laven mixes, you might wanna check Gwen Guthrie's 1st 2 albums(which were produced by Sly Robbie).

I bought this set when it was released several years ago. It's fantastic! I especially like the songs "Why Leave Us Alone" and "Love Has Come Around",rare jams that don't usually appear on compilations.

To be honest, I bought that album on the strength of Taana Gardner and Janice McClain,,,,,I've been on the run to look for that Janice track since forever nod

"You Can't Hide Your Love From Me" by David Joseph is another cool track. It's from 1983 but I don't remember hearing it back then.Must have been an underground hit.

One thing I don't like on this CD....

the 1984 remix of Sister Sledge's "Lost In Music".I never really liked 80s remixes of songs from the 70s.

I feel you nod

But I think his remixes are different from your typical 'busy/overproduced' 80s remixes,,,,I can't quite put my hands on it, they always sound fresh, considering.

My FAVE Larry Levan remixed project is this btw...

His remix of i Level's "Give Me" gives it a certain coolness

Damn, I can't even act like I'm happy for you right now disbelief lol

The one I have is 'downloaded',,,,,Gwen's albums are VERY hard to find(and the ones in mint condition cost a HANDFUL) but that 'remix' project is damn near buried in some goldmine somewhere sigh

Where the hell did you find it?

Second-hand from an ex-DJ. This copy is actually in very skanky condition, but it's my favorite too. hug
