Kelly's new cd "untitled" on amazon.com" If he's such a shit human being (which you don't know him personally to say so) and his music is supposedly - crap Then why are you in this thread? I know he married a 15 year old girl and has an affinity for young girls and that's all I need to know about him as a person. R Kelly and Aaliyah (since i know thats the 15 year old girl) were NEVER married. Both R Kelly and Aaliyah have denied the marriage. ANYONE can open up Photoshop and make a fake marriage paper. I don't want to know or ever meet him but you seem to ignore the fact that he did these really fucked up things and admitted he has a problem liking young girls. And I guess if Elvis liked little girls, it makes it okay. But he crossed your mind when you clicked on this thread, eh? When did he admit he liked young girls? What is it you're trying to prove? If it's that R. Kelly is a kiddie fiddler, you're failing miserably. There's nothing you're going to accomplish by going on on how he's such a horrible human being that makes bad music. Many artists have done things that are considered "immoral acts" but it doesn't stop people from enjoying their music. So why don't you go on and listen to your wonderful and moral artists Oh btw- It says that Stevie is your fav. artist on your profile. He has commended R. Kelly on his songwriting.

the ones who protest the loudest are the biggest fans. the people you usually see running into the thread claiming to hate the artist or their "garbage music". they see a topic with the supposed artist name in it that they claim to hate and be the first ones to reply to the thread. i learned to ignore those types awhile ago. they are attention seekers who want all eyes on them. WTF??? I absolutely hate the fact the he beat the judicial system in his child sex case - but I have always thought he was talented, but this piece of crap here called UNTITLED, woah
I love r&b music, and this album does not pass the smell test, well maybe it is a pisser... I can see why it is 'untitled', one wouldn't know what to call this auto-tune ladened bunch of crap (oops I meant piss). Music Royalty in Motion

I liked "I Love The DJ" and "Be My #2" but as for the rest, offhand I think it is junk filler. I'll download those 2 songs from iTunes and that will be that.
Not really disappointing, because I never expect much from an R. Kelly album just because to me, his albums are always 90% filler with 3 good songs at most. As expected, the 2 songs I mentioned above, save it from being horrible IMO. MJ Fan 1992-Forever

Key word: major "You Rock My World" failed to chart #1 in most countries. While "You are Not Alone" charted #1 in almost every countries around the world and it didn't drop in the 90's. It re-entered the charts in 2009 but it was a cover. Still, R. Kelly is picking up those royalty checks Oh! and R. Kelly wrote and produced what is considered MJ's "last song".

I admire R's work with MJ. But as far as albums go, to go back to the original point before debating if "You Rock My World" was a major hit, SINCE it clearly was, Marvin Gaye's ALBUMS mattered - the entire albums. Same with MJ. R Kelly can do a few good songs per album, but by and large his albums are fillers. If I digged deep, I'd say one of his earlier albums way back when almost was a good entire album, but even then, loaded with some fat.
I'd rather hear MJ's "Little Susie" any-day to R's filler garbage loaded on practically every album. R's songs produced for MJ were always good, because who was it that EVERY producer said forced them to PUT IN THEIR BEST? MJ. Sure, R deserves credit for production, but as far as being on Marvin Gaye's level or MJ's level, as an artist who mattered, that is laughable. R. Kelly is the guy who performed "I Believe I Can Fly," for Space Jam's soundtrack, Wrote "You Are Not Alone *Maybe*," for MJ, and writes way too many songs about booty and pees on girls. Nuff said. I find myself being someone who normally sticks up for R, but when people start to put him up with Marvin and Mike, that is just way too far. He is still an okay-good artist though. MJ's albums mattered nursery rhymes matter? MJ's albums were filled with mediocre beats with candy coated lyrics. And funny that you credited MJ for R.'s contribution to his music. Come on! All the songs R. produced and wrote for MJ were cleary R.'s and it's very obvious that songs like "Cry" and "You Are Not Alone" are written and produced by R. The only reason people are going bat shit when some say R. is this generations Marvin is because Marvin is immortalized. I can guarantee you that in 30 years or so when another R. Kelly wannabe pops up people will be saying "Oh he could never be on R. Kelly's level" Hell! People are saying it now with artists like Trey Songz and etc. R. Kelly is far more talented then the both of them. Admit it.

One more thing: Marvin mattered because he addressed prejudice and called for people to be more aware of the world in his music. MJ did the same, maybe on a lighter level with hallmark card songs like "Heal The World" but millions of kids love that song to this day, and it had a huge impact. Therefore, with those facts alone Marvin and MJ both made a huge contribution to the world/environment/future with their music.
What has R done with his music that mattered? Sang about being "the greatest" or his ten million different ways to sing about sexing a woman up? Seriously. Let's not get carried away with R's "artistry" please. [Edited 11/26/09 12:47pm] MJ Fan 1992-Forever

Let's not get carried away with R's "artistry" please. Correct! and Marvin was doing that for the people of his generation. R. Kelly has always been socially conscious and his most popular songs prove it. The article I posted proves how socially conscious he has always been. Oh please don't give me that "Heal the World" bullshit. Janet did it before him. "The world's greatest" is analogy of motivation. Of course, you being a MJ fan wouldn't know that. Since you find shit like "Thriller" groundbreaking Sex sells and MJ has sang about it too. Whoopee!
