Again never said she was innovative, said she was doing things that werent being done in that genre by the females around her, which is true, look at the likes of Rihanna and Ciara who dont write all sound the same, but again, its like talking to a brick wall on this forum as u can see by what gets replies like Adam Lambert and Robin Thicke, wow great fucking artists there, you'd think on a Prince forum something would rub off. R kelly is a waste, he operated in a genre that sold its soul, and ask anyone on this forum who knows soul music, and im not talking Beyonce, she is less soul than anyone alive. RB as a genre died in that decade and has yet to find itself again, just like Rock died too.

Are you serious? R. Kelly souless? AHAAA! Seeing your response in the thread about him having a Thanksgiving dinner for troops. I'm convinced you already set your mind on how you felt about him and his music before actually listening to his albums

So next track!

Oh btw, Amerie is doing nothing different from those around her. She's a waste of space in the industry. Not marketable and a horrible artist. But she'll get dropped from her label eventually. While R. Kelly has been industry for 20 years and each one of his albums have gone platinium or multi-platinium.

So sales determine if you are an artist, good philosphy to live by, so Vanilla Ice and Eminem are the best rappers ever, ok, let me let LL and Rakim know that they arent artists.

Did that say that?

Oh! you must be one of those people that gripe on and on about popular artists and choose to drool over these "underground" artists lol

All I'm saying is don't try to act like R. Kelly didn't contribute shit to music and is just a gimmick.

Actually no, but i do know that people who say John Mayer is better than Ryan Adams, have no clue. Just because John has the looks he gets played, that is what you are saying basically, John shouldnt even be on the same planet as Ryan. So being marketable is bullshit, im not an accountant and these peeps aint paying me with the money they make so i could care less what they sell and who goes platnum, that is 90's Soundscam mentality. And you're wrong that the artists i like dont sell or i frown on them, Lets see Norah Jones, second biggest selling female artist since 2000 worldwide, Bon Jovi 163million albums sold worldwide, biggest tour of 2008, they're underground. I dont care what you sell, if you are on the ground under the fucking ground who cares, play an instrument, dont follow the crowd just to be "down and sell", write your music, arrange your vocals, and be in charge of your own career not letting a label own you all your life.

Yea, yea, yea

R. Kelly does all that. So running in here talking all that non-sense just made you look a fool. Especially since you consider this image Amerie is putting forth is geniune and "unique".

Poor you) , but whatever, he's a fake and he called out (Amerie is fake and I'm calling her out. this album is garbage. sad thing is this guy actually has the ability to write and sing real songs...songs that are actually good. this is gimmicky, tuneless TRIPE. 'echo' is pretty hilarious tho with all the yodeling.

Read that a long time ago, heard the quotes comparing him to Sam Cooke,Prince etc...and the fact that R kelly is even in the same sentence with Marvin Gaye is sad, plain and simple cut it anyway you want. He is relevant for his decade and time, but he did nothing like the ones he is compared to, comparisons are stupid plain and simple, none of these artists were on the same playing fields. Sam Cooke existed in a time when Blacks couldnt even use the same bathroom as white people, so do not equate the two. R pulled his genre down in the long run not up. This is the same kinda stuff i hear with people saying that Guns N Roses are more relevant in rock music, nonsense, Guns were relevant for the time they were in, but couldnt do anything other bands did. The same goes for R, he aint Sam Cooke he sure is HELL aint PRince, Prince could get across SEX without saying it, thats the major difference, with R and many in the 90's it was all imagery, Sex is for the mind not the eyes.

Oh and the Prince quote of "being a soul man" is taken out of context, in wasnt in a positive point Prince was discussing

So I listened to the album in it's entirety and I must say I'm not all that thrilled. It seems like R. is trying to appeal to this generation of listeners. It's definitely different from the crap on the radio but it's not the R. Kelly I grew up listening to. But at the same time I can't blame him. It's hard keeping up with today's listeners but he does it well and there's no doubt in mind this will do very well (sales). I rate it 3.5 stars out of 5.

How did R. pull his genre down? He has made plenty of songs of inspiration. Hell! he's the one people look for the corny tributes and graduation songs.
and R. has sad time and time again that it's not like he's a nympho. He makes music about sex and love because it appeals to the masses. It's his forte!! Just like Marvin Gaye and you can clearly see the similarities. And R. has songs about sex where he doesn't mention sex too.

Just admit it you want to go in a time machine to the 70's or some shit but boo hoo! music is evolving and times are changing.

nod

He's smart when it comes to his music. I think we all know what he's capable of but he chooses to making the music he does so it will sell and appeal to many listeners. And plus it has always been this way for years and years. Idk why people are acting like artists are just now starting to sing about sex. Even the people that hate him have listened to a song that he either wrote or produced. lol

Society itself is run by sex or anything sexual in nature in general. I also can not understand why people are so flabbergasted by this, its nothing new. Everyone from The isley Brothers to Marvin Gaye, to R Kelly and many others knew how the music business works. Hell, why do you think people like Lil Wayne or whatever have more record sells than someone like Lupe or Nas, that barely to never involve sexual innuendos in their music? Society in general has a fucked up mentality, lets face it. falloff

it is my opinion. You don't have to like it. and you have absolutely no idea who my favorite singers are and whether I like any R Kelly penned songs they've performed.

His stuff is amazing to YOU and his other fans. To some of us, he is a no-singing, garbage writing, kiddie lover.

No, I am not fascinated by R Kelly. He never crosses my mind unless I see something posted about him here.
