I really enjoyed Prince's halftime show.

I also really liked when MJ surprised the audience
at the MTV Awards when Nsync performed "Pop." Seeing him
dance and the way he was introduced was awesome.

This Is It..the movie takes the cake for me though. biggrin

granted, bey is no ella, and a large part of it was the moment in time rather than the performance, but i cried and i know i wasn't the only one.

since the thread is called musical moments rather than musical performances, it fits

Mp3s were around in the 90's, darlin'. That's not a new development.

Janet's titty was one of the best.

Prince doing the 02 shows was great.

Maxwell.

Very tough one.

I would say:

1. Creed breaking up and failure of Scott Stapp's solo career.

2. Prince's terrific Super Bowl performance.

3. Prince's terrific RRHOF performances.

4. Prince's successful Musicology Tour and reclaiming chart success again.

5. Sonic Youth's most recent effort

6. Lady GaGa's entrance into Pop Music.

7. Nine Inch Nails increased musical output to include free offerings on their website.

8. Miles Davis Remasters

9. Increased output of the Indie art-rock music scene. Though not terribly evident on radio/T.V., it's very vibrant as of late

10. Kate Bush's Aerial

I was thinking more of how it exploded with iPhone and cell phone/mp3s, and downloading from place such as Amazon, iTunes, Rhapsody. They were around but the potential was not nearly as noticeable as it has been this decade.

don't play, ernest, you knew what I meant, darling.... wink punching

She certainly did.

I'm not a big fan of diva-pop, but I LOVE Lady Gaga. I hope to see more of her in the coming years.

fuck it, i put the madonna performance.

i am going with adam lambert for my number 9.

i HATE american idol. it's produced a handful of decent singers, but this kid blew. it. up.

and then best of all, he cast off that disneyfied american idol silly and turned and did exactly wwhat he wanted to.

and the AMA performance was awesome. i love the shock and the homphobia it caused to bubble up too.

the kid has talent, and is someone to watch. he might actually start the glam rock revival with gaga, if they don't crucify him before he can.

the return of Kate Bush was a huge thrill, for sure.

The Beatles amazing remasters.

For me personally, seeing Radiohead in a horrendous downpour at an outdoor venue. I've never been so cold and wet and miserable but it was completely worth it.

Seeing Billy Joel, INXS, Matchbox Twenty, and Sugar Ray in concert were other great moments for me personally.

Beyond that, I loved seeing INVINCIBLE go to number 1. I also loved seeing the premiere of the "You Rock My World" short-film on VH-1, and before that, hearing it own radio for a few weeks earlier that summer.

*I also loved having both my 2 cds released and 2 of my bands music videos play
on local TV. Those were great moments!

Another would be when I had the chance to hear Jodie (one of the Real Milli Vanilli singers) hear a portion of "Rock With You" driving us
somewhere in her car in the summer of 2007. It was magic!
