OMFG @ Art Tatum & Oscar Peterson. I had vaguely heard of their names but never did any follow up research on it. wow, truly the epitome of the word virtuoso

Great thread, usually threads like these get the "crickets" treatment in here lol

I can't remember the 1st time I heard the Duke's music because it always got played in my house growing up, however he came to my attention as an adult through this song...



Everything about this song resonate with me.

His music also hipped me into Johnny Hodges & Ben Webster.

As for pianists(whom I'm always partial to) I enjoy Art Tatum, but these 2 take the cake, ALWAYS:





I don't bother with the labels because they always confuse me though, ragtime, stride, whateva lol
