KCOOLMUZIQ said: blackguitaristz said: Nope,...look above at my post. ^^^ Look at the date and the venue where I stated seeing ohim on the Controversy tour. I also already stated that it was the first time I myself had seen Prince. The ticket was only $9.75! Avalon Presents...I remember that, dawg! The Time also played at The Roxy out here in So Cal two days after on the 14th. I know that was the only show P played that year out here because I missed out on seeing him when he was last out here when he played at Flipper's on Mar 31, 81 during his Dirty Mind tour. I saw P again out here in L.A on Mar 28, 83 ( a day after my birthday) where it was just Vanity 6 who opened. Then I saw him again a few days later at Long Beach Arena on Mar 31,83 where The Time was added to the bill and was allowed to play. P's managenment didn't book The Time at the Universal Amphitheater show on Mar 28 during the 1999 tour because that was a big time show where a lot of celebs showed up to, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Stevie Nicks, etc. So P didn't want to chance getting upstaged by The Time. so on that show it was just Vanity 6 and then P. 3 days later at Long Beach Arena, it was V6, The Time and then P. [Edited 11/24/09 18:57pm] Well unless I missed the opening act which I doubt. Prince was the only one on that stage that night. The Time was not there..... I still have the advertisement of that show that I cut out the newspaper billing only Prince.....I remember The Time was at The Roxy two days later. But they were NOT on stage with him at The Santa Monica Civic. Sorry bro ur wrong on that one..... Well damn brah,...I'm sorry for you because obviously You HAD to have missed the opening act (S) cuz man, Zapp AND The Time were the opening acts. I know the ticket price was only $9.75 but still, you didn't get all of your money's worth. When I recorded with Morris and Andre back in 95, that was one of the things Morris and I talked about was me seeing The Time on the Controversy AND the 1999 tours. Morris and I spoke about THIS show at the Santa Monica Civic AND the show at The Roxy 2 days later. He said he remembered those shows specifically because that was the first time most of the members had ever been to L.A. so they were all hyped. He said they were all like "Hollywood Hollywood". He was saying how the show at The Roxy was a little looser because they were feeling good because they were doing the show all alone on the bill. But the set was exactly the same set as it was at the Santa Monica Civic. On the ticket, it only mentions Prince. So it's no surprise about the old ad you have. I remember the ticket "Avalon Presents Prince". The ticket was light blue or light green. On other tickets, like when The Time opened for P on the same tour, like Riverfront Stadium in Cinci Ohio, (where they had that infamous food fight after the show) ONLY Prince is listed there as well. So obviously you had to have missed the two opening acts because Zapp AND The Time opened for P that night. The Time was the opening act for the whole ENTIRE tour brah. Zapp were only on some of the dates, including this date, but The Time were on the entire tour. There are a few other orgers who also attended this concert because I've mentioned me attending this show SEVERAL times on here in the years past and they too remember attending this show seeing Zapp & The Time. Nah brah, you don't have to apologize. Don't even trip, we're straight! I was a kid too and my mom also had to drop me off. But I was so upset because I had missed out on seeing P at Flipper's in L.A. By the time I found out about that show, the tickets had sold out. So I remember on the radio station 1580 KDAY, they were giving away tickets. I was calling and calling and when I got through, I wasn't the right caller, etc. So I missed that one. So I made sure I wasn't going to miss anything on the Controversy show.. But again, you and I, we're straight! SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Vocodor I can understand the confusion to distinct between the two though,,,,but both are played differently, the talk box is more physical while the vocodor is more computer-oriented. well, actually Cher is neither Talkbox nor Vocoder, it's 100% AutoTune some classic Vocoder tracks would be Grandmaster Flash "Scorpio", Afrika Bambaata "Planet Rock" or Kraftwerk "Roboter" this Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

I guess a vocoder, you have to have it completely the same, you can change your voice with the talk box. Autotune, you basically shrill your vocals.
