Thanks Harle, I just checked google and Frampton did indeed use a talkbox. Ironically, it was Stevie Wonder that inspired him to get one. So, I still don't see how Roger could get credit when Frampton had it featured heavily on one of the biggest selling albums on all time. You know?

Did you guys know that "More Bounce To The Ounce" is the second most sampled song of all time, after JB's "Funky Drummer"?

Even people who don't know funk know Roger cos of cuts like "California Love"

The show was absolutely KILLIN'!. I've seen Zapp several times after that but then when he opened for Prince, that was my first. Which to me, is one of the most funkiest tracks ever known to exist on this earth. I remember when P came out with the track "Controversy" in 81, P's guitar playing on that always reminded me of Roger's playing on "More Bounce". The parts are totally different but the feel and the vibe reminds me of each other. I have NO doubt that P adored "More Bounce" as well as the O.G. Gangsta Crip/Blood anthem "So Ruff So Tuff". funkpill might even remember a thread I did on here a few years ago on "More Bounce/Controversy" where I went more into depth about the atmosphere of that time and the impact those two songs, along with "So Ruff So Tuff" had on folks!
Those 3 songs are 3 of my all time faves from anyone....

"It Doesn't Really Matter" is kinda under-rated in terms of the Zapp catalog (of course Zapp as a band are hella under-rated as a whole), but I think it's one of their best and funkiest jams.

The ticket was only $9.75! Avalon Presents...I remember that, dawg! The Time also played at The Roxy out here in So Cal two days after on the 14th. I know that was the only show P played that year out here because I missed out on seeing him when he was last out here when he played at Flipper's on Mar 31, 81 during his Dirty Mind tour. I saw P again out here in L.A on Mar 28, 83 ( a day after my birthday) where it was just Vanity 6 who opened. Then I saw him again a few days later at Long Beach Arena on Mar 31,83 where The Time was added to the bill and was allowed to play. P's managenment didn't book The Time at the Universal Amphitheater show on Mar 28 during the 1999 tour because that was a big time show where a lot of celebs showed up to, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Stevie Nicks, etc. So P didn't want to chance getting upstaged by The Time. so on that show it was just Vanity 6 and then P. 3 days later at Long Beach Arena, it was V6, The Time and then P.
