Wowugotit

I don't feel her coming back. I think she's over in a commercial sense. Her last couple of albums have done poorly. I like her but I think her time is over.

You don't think she's an rnb artist? I think that is all she is. I agree, her teen music was perfect for her. I think part of it is that you can never stop thinking of her as a kid. A lot of people were disbelieving when she had her daughter.

Thats sad because I think Brandy has a beautiful voice.....

I like her voice a lot, but she seemed to become a lazy singer. I haven't heard her really try or put forth much effort in years. She could make a comeback w/ strong material AND some passion in the studio - that's what's really lacking!

I don't know. She's down now but not totally out. She does need stronger material. If the new album had a strong single,I would have bought it. "Afrodisiac" proves she can have some substance and style. She needs another album like that!

Why people trippin' on the poor lady like accidents don't ever happen. She wasn't drunk, she wasn't on drugs, she just failed to brake in time. It seems very obvious she wasn't trying to hurt anyone and I'm sure she had a hard time dealing with it.

Anyone who drives and has never spoken on a cell, or texted, or turned around to look at your child, or had the sun in your eyes, and never been or almost been in a car accident is a hot lie!

Brandy (and Monica, for that matter) have awesome voices and can "come back" whenever they like. The problem is this fickle musical culture that favors style over substance and supports the untalented for a hot minute.

She needs 2 get away from these cookie cutter producers.
It's that SIMPLE.

She tried that (somewhat) on this last album. I thought her last album flopped only because they picked the wrong songs as singles.

Heh. I loved the singles. "Right Here (Departed)" and "Long Distance" were both great IMO. shrug

AFAIC, Brandy's never had a problem with bad material and, even when the material isn't as good as it normally is (e.g., most of the Full Moon album), her vocals and delivery more than make up for it.

Brandy is a BAAAAADDDDD ass vocalist. She should do a quiet storm album.

"Afrodisiac" was and still is the shit. People slept on it. Timbaland at his best.

It's not like the girl can't sing. It's weird because at one point, she was very much a brand-not like Beyonce, but she was very much a media presence. Interesting too, how she and Aaliyah were around at the same time. I wonder why Brandy just fell by the wayside. I don't get it.

I'm curious..

What producers would serve Brandy the best, iyo? hmmm

I don't think they were bad songs, it's just that they didn't appeal to a wide audience. I actually really liked Brandy's last album. It should have done better. That's why I think her audience has outgrown her.

As i recall from what i heard of her last album, she didn't suck
up to the flavor of the moment rap artist or producer.

Brandy's Full Moon and Afrodisiac were her best work in my opinion. Oh, and her debut was HOT too. Afrodisiac had a nice mix of producers that actually worked well for. That record was criminally slept on. Timbaland, Kanye, Organize Noize everybody actually gave her some fire. I think Atlantic at the time pushed the wrong first single. The rest is history, it never caught fire.

That last joint was horribly boring. Borderline depressing. Such a waste.

"Talk About Our Love" was an excellent first single. The big issue with that was Kanye wasn't as big then. This was around the same time he worked with Janet.

Dull music still dominates the charts so of course she can make a comeback. Her idol, Shitney, made a comeback this year and so can she. lol

I love all her albums, but didn't bother with the current one. Full Moon is her best one, and Aphrodisiac has some really good songs. If the latter was released this year, she would have made a comeback.

I think she can. She still looks good and she still can sing. She still has fans and supporters out there. Even if she had a problem with drugs, she'd still be able to come back. Whitney proved that anything is possible
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.
