Man, I missed the AMAs...but luckily for me there's this great thing called 'Youtube' that lets me watch without giving the show ratings. In a nutshell, loved Janet and Kelly Clarkson the most. Was very impressed by Lady Gaga who I thought was fantastic. Nothing else really worth mentioning for me....but I do love how this guy summed it up in less than 7 minutes.

Jennifer Lopez: i liked the song more during the performance. she fell...and??? name an artist who hasn't. and the recovery was quick. but i liked the performace, staging, and concept. dancing was good but i think could've been a bit better.
Keith Urban: pretty styraight forward. but he was good. Alicia Keyes (solo): WTF!!  motorcycle, fly into the air, start out in front of a brick wall with half assed crotch grinding girls then serenade a gay burglar, then do a cirque du soliel piano in the air finish. umm ok.  disappointed.
Carrie Underwood: good performance. Lady Gaga: love her. she always delivers.
Shakira: pretty much did the video live.
Rihanna: performance was blah....i'll just get the album. i like her but i don't think she's the best live. girl is beautiful though. Eminem and dem rappers... NEXT!! 
Adam Lambert: never heard him and after that crap, i'm glad i hadn't. desperate for attention and horrific singing...if we're calling it that. was not the slightest bit entertaining. trash.
Whitney Houston: seemed like she was struggling. and why was she doing her own echoes?

Regarding that Adam Lambert performance and all the complaints it received, just turn the channel people! It's much a do about nothing, as usual.
I'm not necessarily a fan of his, and to me his performance was a cliché, nearly a caricature. It was a yawn-fest... but then again, I think I've just outgrown a lot of that style. I'm not really into Janet or Madonna either anymore even though I respect their accomplishments. Most of pop music is boring to me. But for Adam Lambert to receive all the complaints? Turn-off the TV if you don't like it, for cryin' outloud. Why do these people want to control everybody else? This is what I don't understand. | |
