Still one of my top favorite pop songs. I used to do the dance moves to that whenever it played on the radio or MTV.

I've been in a Jets mood all week. I dusted off their greatest hits and put it in my mp3 player.

They've also been doing religious music for years. Apparently, they're Mormon. Which would explain why there's 96 of 'em!!!

I thought they made really good, well-crafted Pop Songs.

They're really talented, and Crush On You was definitely an underrated contribution to the "Minneapolis Sound".

Even though, I didn't know they were from there until last year.

Loved the Jets when I was growing up. As a kid, I also thought there was something "black" going on there. Later I found out they were Pacific Islanders.

With regard to whatever happened to them, what I know of is mostly from the 90's so I know a lot has changed.

Leroy (guitarist)- he was producing and managing the "New" Jets at one time. He has gained weight as most of us have and had quite a bit of grey the last time I saw him. He is married with kids.

Haini (bassist)- Is married with like 7 or 8 kids if I'm not mistaken. He still plays bass with a group here and there.

Rudy (drummer/sex symbol)- Not a whole lot on Rudy. I think he still lives in Utah and is married. The last I saw him he had gained weight and had a stomach wink . Have a kid or two if I'm not mistaken.

Eugene (percussion/group red-haired sex symbol)- No idea about Eugene

Eddie (percussion/sax)- last I heard in the early 90's, he and his wife were running a video store. They have kids. Was in Utah in the 90's.

Kathy (keyboards)- was working for a airline in the 90's in Utah. Has a son. Was married about3-4 years ago.

Moanna (co-lead singer)- Lives in Hawaii and is married with kids. Sings in a Christian group with her sisters.

Elizabeth (lead singer)- Lives in Hawaii with her husband and couple of kids. Had a bout with breast cancer in the 90's but is doing fine now. Sings in a Christian groupl with her sisters.

Again, this is some information that I knew in the 90's, with exception to a couple things like Kathy getting married and seeing Rudy and Leroy and Elizabeth and Moana in the singing group. Oh and Haini as well. I would say 50/50 old stuff and current stuff. biggrin

I would love to have seen them all reunited.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

SoulAlive

I saw the Jets in concert when they were a relatively new act.It was in March 1986,on a bill with Ready For The World and Slick Rick and Doug E.Fresh.Talk about a blast from the past! lol

"Crush On You" had just been released as a single,so at this point, they only had one song that the audience really knew ("Curiosity"),but their show was excellent.Very high-energy and fun.Imo,they stole the show from the headlining Ready For The World.

I remember later in the year, there were rumors that Prince asked them to be the opening act on his 'Parade' tour.He had saw one of their shows and was really impressed.
