Ottensen

I have had a crush on that man for 15 years.

I'm particularly fond of the work he does with his Brasilian grooup Morelenbaum2 Sakamoto. Am I wrong for openly admitting that he could get it? boxed boxed boxed

You do me (with Jill Jones) is not bad neither and Hearbeat (with Ingrid Chavez) is good too. I love the whole "Beauty" album and the rest too...

biggrin I love the fact that he's got the stylistic range to fly back and forth between Classical, Pop, Jazz, Avant-Garde, Funk, and back again--often all on the same record!

I was familiar with his stuff with Yellow Magic Orchestra, but the first time I heard him outside of that was on David Sylvian's 'Brilliant Trees' album, especially on the Tune, "Red Guitar"...I heard that and was like, "Who the F*ck is that on Piano??-I gotta know!" , lol I just liked the feel....

David Sylvian, with Ryuichi Sakamoto - Red Guitar

Bass - Wayne Braithwaite
Guitar - Phil Palmer , Ronnie Drayton
Piano, Synthesizer - Ryuichi Sakamoto
Trumpet - Mark Isham

David and Ryuichi, Red Guitar Live, 2002

wink I know a lotta people would consider this sacrilege, But a kool fan named TechnoUdon on youtube mashed up and fused "Paradise Lost" with Bob Marley's "Get Up, Stand Up"...both tunes definitely take on some new dimensions...funny how some passages sync up and compliment each other....
