I remember seeing this back in 1982. I can't remember but I think it was on Chicago's WGN Channel 9 (remember those days when cable only consisted of local channels and Chicago's WGN and Atlanta's TBS ). Anyway, it wasn't just a music video. I can't remember exactly what it was, whether it was a television special or some sort of video compilation of songs performed on a set to be aired on various TV shows such as Kasey Casem's Top 10 or Solid Gold (remember music videos weren't really big yet, especially when it came to R&B and a video for sale wouldn't be realistic either since VCRs were too expensive for most people to afford). Anyway, it must have been a television special because "Street Corner" wasn't the only song. Ashford and Simpson performed several songs and they were all done on that street set with the subway. This was also the summer of 1982 months before Michael Jackson released his "Thriller" album and did the video for "Billie Jean". Makes me wonder if Michael saw this television special and got an idea for his "Billie Jean" video to be done on a street setting. Andy is a four letter word.

Used to listen to them in the early 80s. Recently saw them perform on PBS. It's great to see them still together and performing strong! Great couple surviving the decades! Really heartening to see them hanging in there esp. when so many others have faded away or passed on!

Come to think of it,I think this may have been a TV special. The song is from their album 'Street Opera',an ambitious concept album.Someone probably came up with the idea to do a TV special,in which the songs would be spotlighted....a little mini movie.

"Street Corner" reminds me of my favorite movie, "Streetwalkin".
