Meshell for me because She is more of a Artist per say.Raphel I've been listening too for years&while I'll hear something I dig from Him His Writing&production for Others truly outweighs His Own Output IMHO.MeShell I think would make a Helluva Producer for other Acts as well.but She is more of a Direct Artist for me than Raphel.somehow even though I liked some things off His Album I kinda already knew what too expect.with Her you get a Warmer Vibe with the Lyrics&Feel. mistermaxxx

Oh man! Meshell rules!
If U got "Cookie..." :I: say don't bother with Saadiq's "Instant Vintage" unless he curiosity is REALLY bugging U! 4those who bought the album :I: have a tribute track 2 her entitled "Ndege". :I: think it is still available at www.newpowerradio.tk 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

Raphel
Meshell is nothing but a complaining psyco lesbo and her music has been on a decline with each new release. I like Saadiq because he does music for the common folks. Music Eltist suck.

I can't say to pick one over the other. I don't understand why the two are being pitted, please explain that to me? That's like saying I prefer apples over squash. Too each his own. I did get a sampler of the Cookie Anthropology, and have yet to this day to open it, and can't tell you why beyond that I misplaced it for a few months. Maybe I'll make the effort to play it soon when I'm anxious for something that I haven't played yet. As for Raphael, I've always been a fan going back to the Tony Toni Tone days also being a bay area native, and after seeing him twice on tour, I'm already impartial to him. I just like his style. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

amen, probably his best sessions although his work with D'Angelo (in particular "Untitled") is legendary. MayB :I: expected 2 much from his first solo album but :I: was admittingly disappointed, not by the music but by lyrics that were evidently written while he was stoned pt. 1!!! :I:'m not sure about a blind man telling him 2 go and find a girl but :I: am dayum sure that "It Never Rains In Southern California" <- NOW THAT WAS THE JAM! Definite cosign on this. Paisley, do yourself a favor and pick both of 'em up. It can do you no harm.

Can't really say which I prefer...If I had to, I'd probably choose Meshell...
But I see that Raphael's album was nominated for five Grammys!!! Interesting... -SWANGdoesn'twatchtheGrammys

I DO have Meshell's album, it was on day last summer, i couldnt choose which one i should get, my friend said, "get that damn Meshell, u wont regret it!" And now it is an album that cannot stay in its case.
I have yet 2 pick up Raphel, but i heard it is "ok" but not as poetic, rebelistic, and real as Meshell, i guess im only comparing it because i had 2 choose between them the same day! Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Meshell because I love each of her albums and they all are gems IMO. Raphael is great too, don't get me wrong. I love the TTT records and his some of his solo joints are hot. But, since they're pitted against each other I'll chose Meshell. Much love, Raph!

Your sole purpose for being here must be to get a reaction - nobody is this stupid, are they? Yea, you're common folk, alright...

I would rather hear what kind of damage they could do if they ever worked together. Maybe form some sort of super group.

Meshell makes me jealous in a way. I wish i though up of the weirdness in the album. The cover alone is worth getting. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

It depends for me. I'd say as an artist the edge goes to Meshell.
But from an album standpoint if I had to choose between Cookie and Instant Vintage, honors goes to Raphael. I thought Cookie was pretty disappointing. However, Bitter and Peace beyond Passion were superior to Instant Vintage...

However, Bitter and Peace beyond Passion were superior to Instant Vintage... I kind of agree with this. Cookie is an artistic masterpiece but it takes me places I don't feel like goin every day. Meshell on the other hand is complicated and so critical. As 4 being poetic?? She could neva hold handle 2 Crutis or even Lauryn Hill. BTW I think the reason why PaislyPark compare the both becoz they both play bass. [This message was edited Mon Jan 13 10:41:51 PST 2003 by Harlepolis]

Sorry 2 say but there ain't no reason of sense 2 compare these 2 artist who are both very talented, and who are holding it down in the music world...
