When U see the artistry, vision and performance standards in this concert video, along with many others from artists of that era, it is really hard to not find yourself asking what has happened to the music industry.
Eras come and go and music changes but it is soooo tough to deny the fact that they just don't make 'em like they used to..... I try to not fall victim to the notion I have often heard spoken that we are all a product of the era we grow up in, that we are destined to long for the things that were current when we were really paying attention to entertainment etc.....and despite the barren landscape we have on the radio dials I listen in from time to time hoping to find a spark of originality and maybe something that sounds like it comes from the artists heart and not a re-tread of what is the trend of the moment.....but it is soo tough to try and favorably compare the popular artists of today against those who came before.....and so I end up playing those songs of the past over and over again..... lost in the past....yes, I guess I am... Maurice White.....yeah, yeah yeah..... [Edited 11/11/09 14:55pm] | |
