Definately my favorite album from her. Hell, it's the only album of her's that I bought other than some 45s and two greatest hits collections, one from Motown and the other from RCA.

No need to hide. Hell, I have my original vinyl album and the double CD expanded edition of the album that contains her Motown 12 Inches. That was a bad ass album, be proud of having it. lol

Those were the main ones I listened to back in the day when I first bought the album and also "Tenderness". Hell, those right there alone are a lot of good songs to be on one album considering it's Diana Ross who I mainly bought 45s from because maybe only one or two songs on her albums were slammin'. lol

Over the years though, I also discovered "Give It Up" and "My Old Piano". I've discovered through the years that the Chic sound is all over the album. There's only two songs I skip over when I listen to the "Diana" album nowadays....the two slow songs. lol

That entire album is excellent.Bernard and Niles supplied Diana with some of the best songs of her career.I love all the songs but my favorites are "Upside Down","My Old Piano","Tenderness" and "Friend To Friend".Wonderful songs! Pull the CD out and give it another listen.

do you prefer the Chic mixes from the deluxe edition or the original released version?

I for my part favour the Chic-mix with most of the songs
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

I'm not too crazy about the Chic mixes.Diana's vocals sound lazy and the songs sound incomplete.I prefer the polished, released version of the album.

I'd still do her razz

but vocals aside, the music and instruments sound much tighter and more straight-to-the-point

you really think so? I think it all sounds demo-y.I'm actually surprised that Bernard and Niles were planning to release it that way.

I know you don't like slow songs, but you really should listen to "Friend To Friend".That song is beautifully haunting and melodic.....a real gem! music One of the strongest slow songs that Chic ever created.
