It's not the norm though. I myself am a gay man & I don't like that kind of music at all, with the exception of Lady Gaga cause she's so odd. My favourite's are Prince, Sly & The Family Stone, Earth Wind & Fire, Hendrix, SRV, Bob Marley, Outkast, Frank Zappa.... looking at my I-pod you'd think I'm a middle aged straight black guy or something instead of an 18 year old skinny gay guy

The reason Madonna is adored by gay people is the same reason people like Tina Turner, Janet Jackson, Diana Ross, Cher, etc. are big gay icons. My take on it is that gay guys love the attitude and persona that these people portray on stage. They have a strong attitude and break rules.

I thought she was simply OK during her first two albums but nothing to go wild over. She was more pop and I was more into funk. I really liked her and took notice of her during the "Vogue/Erotica" era which I think is her best era but I still didn't just go wild over her.

Most of my gay friends like female artists only and I've never understood it. I love disco and house also but my main love is funk. But then again, I grew up hanging with the straight black guys and never hung with any gay guys until I came out in 1990.
