Any Talking Heads fans out here?

Just curious. I've been on a REAL big Heads kick lately and I'm not sure how many folks out here dig them.

Their first five studio albums, the live album and the Stop Making Sense movie are just an outrageously amazing body of work.

Any other fans out here?

Indeed! Love his vocal approach on that song.

Naive Melody just kills me from Speaking in Tongues.

Very cool. Either of you got favorite albums/songs?

Mine change every time I put one on, but at the moment I'd have to say Fear of Music is my album of choice.

The song "Mind" from that album has always been a favorite.

But Crosseyed and Painless probably takes the cake.

Favorite album is More Songs About Buildings and Food. Love the way "The Girls Want to be with the Girls" merges with "Found a Job". And "Found a Job". bow

"Air" is my favourite song right now.

I'm a casual fan. In 1983, Rolling Stone commented in their review of Speaking in Tongues that "Making Flippy Floppy" had a hook that would make Prince jealous. That caught my attention and so that's the first album from them I bought, and probably my favorite. Also love Naked.

I love Fear of Music and Remain in Light... and Speaking in Tongues.

But I definitely have a soft spot for True Stories, although I know most people don't care for it. I think it's an awesomely quirky pop album.

If i had to pick one song.. probably Road to Nowhere or Burning Down the House. Or... Blind. or Nothing But Flowers.

Or... Psycho Killer. Too many great ones.

They're incredible. Anyone that takes a liking should do themselves a great favor and go out and buy their first 6 studio albums.

Did you know that they created "Burning down the house" after seeing George Clinton live ? (responding to the Pfunk anthem : the roof is on fire...) ?

YES!!! "Damn that television"!!! Great funky rhytym guitar.

Air is so darn quirky. Love it. The transition to the chorus is magical and provides such a resolve.

Agreed. Of course if you go that far, you have to get them all. And the Stop Making Sense movie is just outrageously good. The visuals accompanying the funk add so much to the vibe. There's a band interview from 1999 (15 year anniversary of the movie) where an interviewer asks them what struck them most about watching the movie again. David Byrne's response was something to the effect of, "I had forgotten just how funky a band we were back then". Of course it didn't hurt that they had Bernie Worrell and Alex Weir along side.

From NoVideo's post above, I liked but never really absorbed myself in True stories so I'll give it another whirl.
