wouldnt really consider it a funk album but 1999 is very essential when it comes to 80s funk

a gang of synth riffs and linndrum stylings were lifted from this album

(i could list a gang of albums but im not in the mood)
You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

I was just thinking the same thing. To me, DMSR is one of the funkiest songs P ever did.

I love funk.

And the 1970's has the bulk of the best Funk but I think the 1980's is often overlooked and there are some slamin' albums out there.

A lot of the Funk I love from the 1980's has a Minneapolis sound and some of these albums are not total Funk albums there more Funk RnB pop albums but are still great, which is the way funk went in the 1980's.

Some that spring to mind excluding the obvious Prince and related stuff

Everything by Zapp up to and Including A New Zapp 4 U and Roger's first two Solo albums.
Rick James - Street Songs
Mary Jane Girls
Jak - I Go Wild
Ready For World first two albums
Exotic Storm - In The Beginning
Drac- Drac Attack
Cameo - Alliagtor Woman
Cameo - Word Up
Janet Jackson - Control
Mico Wave - Cookin' From The Outside In
Cinema - Wrong House
Steve arrington -Hall Of Fame
Slave - Showtime
Midnight Star - No Parking On The Dance floor
Madame X- Madame X
32 Phreeze- 32 Phreeze
Tease - Tease
Barkays - Dangerous
Don Blackman - Don Blackman
Mtume - Juicy Fruit.

Shock-Nite Life
QT Hush-QT Hush

How much is Teena Marie on Q.T Hush? I know she wrote a few songs, but did she co-produce the whole album?
If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!
