Its not a new thing, amazon is doing 1.99 for Beyonce, and did it for the last one, did a free credit thing for Mariah Carey, anything at this point to boost numbers .

Just to further the reasoning of these market events. What this is mostly is Amazon trying to cut out iTunes, and it has worked alot for amazon lately, cutting prices on tons of new releases first days of release, its just the downloads, so they arent really losing anything, they are bringing in alot of customers, and cutting into that hold that iTunes has, this also helps the artist sell FULL releases and not that 99 cent a song bullshit for every song on the album
