Michael Jackson made a promise to "always support" his dad and if the estate reneges on that promise Joe will take it to court -- this, according to Joe's lawyer.

Attorney Brian Oxman tells TMZ Michael had repeatedly given Joe, Katherine, and other members of the family assurance that he would "always support" them ... even in the afterlife.

Oxman says Jackson -- in effect -- made a contract on which the family relied. He reiterated -- he's considering filing a creditor's claim if Joe is cut off financially.

The estate seems curiously supportive in giving Joe an allowance ... at least for the time being. But the clock is ticking on creditor's claims, so Joe may have to file one soon in order to preserve his right to go after the MJ estate.


Now you know why Michael spent so much money.. He was supporting his family!!

Shit Joe's gotta have that money to entertain those young ladies in Las Vegas!

Did Karen do his make-up during funeral? I thought she did not work for him anymore. I remember her being bitter on the fan boards cause at one point Mike just would not call her and she would not work for him anymore. I don´t know who worked for him after that, though. It looks like it was Ruska Bergman.

But when the well started to run dry did anyone think they better put another plan in motion? I know Marlon had some things going on but what about Jermaine? I really don't understand why he can't still record. Maybe he doesn't want to which is fine but maybe vasectomy would come to mind.

Supporting family is a wonderful thing but there's a lot of Jacksons and it's not like they're invalids or something. Like what does Jermaine do all day every day? I'm really curious.
