What do you think of AIC reuniting?

I'm all for it, even though William Duvall gets a lot of (unfair) hate from AIC fans. Some of the remarks at Youtube are downright ugly. I loved Layne(one of the best voices in rock), but he's gone, and the fans have to move on. No one will ever come close to Layne, but Duvall does a good job.

Yea, it's just not the same without Layne. I didn't even bother to listen to the new album. Is it any good?

awesome band. Dirt is a fucking amazing rock album, one of a kind. Demented druggy acid metal rock.
Rotten Apples from the Jar of Flies ep is probably my favorite of their songs. * * *

I've only heard a few songs, but I like them. Listen to it with an open mind.

There's a chick in Kelowna who did radio for a while -for all I know she still is -whose given name is Allison Chaynes. I'll give anyone 5 bucks if they can guess who her 'rents' favourite band is. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Love the videos posted. The Unplugged versions are worth mentioning. Their unplugged album is one of my favorite live albums of all time.
The Unplugged version of Rooster is my favorite by them: Nutshell too: Frogs: Sludge Factory: Layne messed up during it and yelled out "Fuck!" youtube tags [Edited 11/10/09 0:28am] looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

But unfortunately, Layne wasn't at his best. You can tell the dude was seriously fucked up and looked emaciated. Addiction is a mfer.

Well done! It's a surprise to see this thread on here.
The new album's worth checking out, it's quite unsettling how the harmonies sound like old Jerry/Layne on some songs yet the new vocalist on his own sounds nothing like layne. Last of My Kind is my fave on it. It's still not the same though

Yeah, they said the sleeves and gloves were to hide the heroin tracks, and you could see a little damage to his teeth during that time, but I still think considering, his vocals were pretty good. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

That shows you how talented the dude was, IMO, one of rock's best vocalists(along with Chris Cornell). He just couldn't get that monkey off his back.

If listen closely, you'll notice the mix is slightly different on most of the vids I posted.

I bought the new album yesterday. Really like the sound of it. Not had chance to get "into" the songs yet, so only time will tell if it's a great album, but so far it is promising, for sure.
I have no problem with them continuing with a new vocalist - Fans can be the judge for themselves whether they like the new guy or not, that's just a personal taste issue, but why shouldn't they continue? This is not an exit

Definitely sounds like old AIC.

Some feel they shouldn't call themselves AIC without Layne. Go figure.

Definitely not my favourite band, but good to see a thread dealing with a band that is not about predictable, boring R&B on here

That's a perfect description of it, absolutely, having seen a couple of live tracks played on TV here in the UK, I'd say the new guy adds more in terms of a second guitar and how that fills the sound out than he does in terms of being a "frontman". Hell, he wasn't even AT the front of the line-up. Definitely Jerry's baby now, for better of for worse - and for now I'm leaning towards "better" This is not an exit

If so, I definitely prefer Cantrell's vocals... This is not an exit

Decided I'm gonna buy the new album, liked something new every time I've heard it. Imagined it would sound like Jerry's solo material which ain't my thing, but it's like a continuation of AIC after all.
