The only people I'd watch this show for are Maxwell and Jennifer Hudson anyway...oh and if Chrisette Michele and Monica are on it because I love them. The rest of the people on that list are so played out and over-exposed that they've become unimportant and boring to me so great if they don't show up. It's like seeing a McDonald's or 7-Eleven on every corner. Is there really any excitment when you can see one no matter where you go? The thrill is gone so why care? Beyonce and Kanye are on practically every awards show that comes out anyway so what's the big deal about them not being at this one? It's not like if they miss this show they won't be on the AMAs or the Grammys or whatever music-based awards show comes out next. Now, if Kanye does show up and says or does some more ignorant, egotistical dumb shit than I may reconsider his presence because his antics make me have those good laughs that are hard to come by and I like a good laugh. He's in a different city every other night. Maxwell is due to release 2 more albums in the next 2 years, making Blacksummer'snight a trilogy. Hell, the show isn't even on the air anymore. Remember when the MTV awards first started? They were for the most popular videos on MTV, not the biggest sales or favorites in the music business in general. Hell, you've got the Grammys and American Music Awards for that. Now, since Soul Train is still on the air in old reruns, the Soul Train awards should consist of the most popular and favorite performances and songs being played on the show currently. I nominate "Do Something" by Goody that was played during the Soul Train line from the 1982 Luther Vandross episode a few weeks ago.
