Queen - Greatest Band ever They had the greatest songs, and Freddie Mercury. So many classic songs the soundtrack of my youth. What do you all think? So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

They are in a two way tie with the Beatles for me. I dig their pre synth stuff much more though. Brian May was a killer guitarist, Roger Taylor was a great drummer, and John Deacon was possibly one of the most underrated rock musicians of the era. He was a great bass player and a pretty good songwriter "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

Word! I consider the sheer fact that I was born in 1983 the bane of my existence, I was never able to see Queen with Freddie Mercury live Was able to see them with Paul Rodgers and without John Deacon last year and in 2005 and was still having a blast...I can only imagine what it must have been like to witness Queen in their prime, together with Freddie... Anyway, Queen will always be the greatest Rock 'n Roll band in my book.

Too many patchy albums for my liking but when they were great they were brilliant. I loved the bands sense of humour.
Greatest live band ever?...probably! [Edited 11/8/09 13:25pm]

They may have been ridiculed for being campy and such, but despite me not liking their output (after "The Game"), they did segue into the 1980s fairly well and still did crank out more hits. Fave album: Presynth: Queen I Post synth: Innuendo "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

As far as rock bands, i would still choose the Stones
and Aerosmith over them but there were a few Queen songs i like but i always found Bohemian Rhapsody to be cheesy. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint
