The Beatles Remasters - Part Two

The other thread appears to have expired.

After the excitement over the remastered CDs, guess what's next?

MP3? No...

Vinyl!

IT IS AWESOME!!! I love, love, love The Beatles so I broke down and bought a Wii just so I could play Beatles Rockband on it.

Songs I typically don't care for that much are fun to sing on Rockband ("Boys," "Back In The USSR") and songs that I love are extra fun to sing ("Dear Prudence," "I Am The Walrus,"). I haven't played drums, bass, or guitar yet, but my husband and brothers will play this game for hours if you let them, and they're casual Beatles fans at best. The graphics are so fun, the sound is fab, and the song selection, albeit only 45 songs, is quite good. And if you have other instrument phobes (like me) in your group, and if you have multiple mics, most songs allow 3 vocalists. It's just so much fun!! And I can't tell you how fantastic it is to score 100!!

Thank you!! I have a Wii but can't afford the $250 deluxe edition that I want so badly. Maybe for Christmas sad

Did you know they just released the Abbey Road album for the game??

Beatles Rock Band is fantastic. I've also come to enjoy a few Beatles songs more after playing them in the game. There's nothing like playing the entire Abbey Road medley. Sgt. Pepper is coming out this month, but I'm really looking forward to Rubber Soul in December. woot!

I kind of cooled on them in the last few weeks and moved on to snatching up Stones remasters (both the recent 70's ones and the older ABKCO ones from 2002). But then, WHAMMO! my MONO box set arrives and it's wall-to-wall Beatles again. god, they are fucking... wow.

I couldn't afford the deluxe addition either, so we got Rockband II (for the instruments) and Beatles Rockband software only at Sam's Club. It was fairly economical. I had an amazon gift card so I purchased a second mic there, and my mom bought me the Lennon replica Rickenbacker for my b-day. Woo hoo!!! I am very excited for Rubber Soul (the Rockband version)!!! smile

Finally...

Official MP3s from The Beatles...

I really thought the MP3 releases would have been remixed though. Nice to see that FLAC files are included too.
