TV One isn't a premium channel No, but it's on a higher priced tier than basic cable. Basic cable in my area is channels 2-73. TV One is up in the 100s channels (I think maybe 149) which is the next tier up that requires the box and the higher price. Hell, I'm about ready to do away with even basic cable altogether since it ain't worth the money they want for it and I can't afford it. That money could go on a light bill or something. One of my bother's and I have Directv. He has a basic package, which he pays around $40 a month and he has it, I have a premium package which is more expensive, and I have TV1. Still another one of my brother's has cablevision and he just got TV1 about 3 months ago. I think it depends on who you have as a cable/satellite provider. missfee said: Yeah I saw it. I seen that Smokey had the nerve to say that Rick didn't have a decision in the money decisions around there??? Please! Rick was Motown's cash cow back in those days...and money can influence any executive to go THEIR way. I've always thought that Smokey was a high yella crook. So yes Teena was definitely right to leave Motown...they weren't even paying her the bare minimum of $6,000 a year.....WHICH ISN'T EVEN ENOUGH TO LIVE ON!!!!! I'm glad she's still around recording and all. Though her daughter can't sing a lick
----- It is unfortunate that the show let Motown off the hook. As Teena as talked about her situation at that company many times over the years. She has mention that she received royaly checks in excess of 1 million for her first Epic recording but never saw more than a few thousand dollars from Motown. They ripped her off by serveral million dollars. . | |

I'm going to watch it at 4:00 today. I missed it
last night going to a concert. I just got DirectTV two weeks ago because local cable was starting to screw me. I got more channels and a lower bill. Just in time for Unsung. Don't laugh at my funk

My mistake! Teena's going to be taping an episode of The View on November 9th. I'm not sure if that's the day it airs though. If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in! | |

Stevie and Marvin holding out (Marvin eventually leaving.) The reason Berry wasnt on those previous episodes was because Usung was a new series. I am no fan of Smokey, despite the fact that one of my cousins is a dead ringer for him when Smokey was younger. My mom grew up on Motown, loved it and couldn't stand Smokey. Smokey came off REAL shady, implying that Teena getting rooked was her fault. He needs to stop, cause it won't take much to pull Ol Boy's skeletons out of the closet and trust me, there's a lotta bones in there it would take a CSI team weeks to catalog. funkpill said: yeah, i think Smoke a share of Motown
that's why he defends Gordy so quickly... Yeah Smokey co-owns Motown. If he and Gordy wasn't so tight, he'd be talking shit like Marvin and 'em, lol Even Diana gets upset when talking about her "Motown family". I remember her saying "there is no family anymore", lol That hints she ain't as close with some of her Motown comrades, I'm gonna guess she and Smoke haven't been on speaking terms in a while. | |

Why was that fool ranting on dreamgirls? Because he felt the filmmakers were dissing Berry Gordy by making people think Berry Gordy really acted like Curtis Taylor (Jamie Foxx's character) and that Florence Ballard wasn't the original lead singer of the group, lol | |
