Marvin Gaye-In performance DVD-the BEST music anthology i have EVER bought-check this clip out http://www.amazon.com/Rea...67&sr=8-16
DANG LORD!!
What sets this apert is the obvious LOVE it has been put together with-the performances are incredible and the interview segues are just great BUT MY GOD-the performances are fucking unbelieavble-i ws always "kind of" into marvin-to be honest i never "got" him-but sweet baby jesus ALL that has changed now-the performance of "whats going on/brother" when it breaks down with just the drums and piano is just .....well it just is hold on i'll try and track it down-it truly is one of THE best ever ever performances of ANY artist i have seen http://www.youtube.com/wa...9KC7uhMY9s i mean he sings like a fucking angel-thats me hooked now on ol marvin and i havent even mentioned the performance of grapevine or aint that peculaliar or the beautiful 24 page booklet...plus the fact i got this for only 9.99(nz dollars-thats three pounds!!) not to mention its a fascinating social docu-how the early performances had not one face of colour in the audience anyway enough waffling-just go out and dig it!

to juxtapose-now i love miles but have you noticed(i gotta be careful here)us white folks tend to attempt to intellectualise everything-some of the miles liner notes send me to sleep-they just so...dry
but this just celebrates the music- now i would love the cats who did this to get their hands on PRINCE and STEVIE
