And you can hear that he's involved in Williams new album. All the songs he was not involved in the last years couldn't live up to their collaborations. Without Guy Chambers Robbie Williams wouldn't have had so much success.

i would suggest most southerners (UK) think he's a tiresome idiot cuz he's a cocky northerner, but there's no denying his voice ain't half bad & he's got some cool songs.
He isn't exceptional talent but imo is only popular because of 'angels' which is a hands down anthem.

I have all of his albums.

He's an okay singer. You can tell he's not the best whenever he does covers. Compare his Freedom version with George Michael's or We Are The Champions with Queen's...

His best songs were written with Guy Chambers from 1997-2002.

He does perfect, radio friendly pop-rock music.

He is in business for over 19 years now!

His humour is special as well. He takes the piss outta himself, sth totally missing in the US show-biz.

Dislike his new single, though.

These are my favorite songs:

Singing For The Lonely
Love Calling Earth
Killing Me
Eternity

well, there are many more.

I think its rather obvious why he is such a big star 'over here'.

His music is like 'perfect MOR with a slight edge': he is incorporating bits and pieces of the Beatles, Elton John, Queen, the Pet Shop Boys and (on his 'swing material') Frank Sinatra into clever POP-music, topped off with an ironic slice of quasi-rebel / anti-hero behaviour.

The majority of his music is both well-composed and inoffensive enough to reach out to a large mainstream crowd, and the ironic / quasi-arrogant attitude of his lyrics and performances give his fans the idea they are listening to / admiring someone who is a bit more edgier then the average MOR-artist.

In that sense, he is a clever artist, offering a certain postmodern charm and sense of irony.

But he shouldnt forget he owes a lot to his original songwriter Guy Chambers, without good compositions his act starts to wear a bit thin.

Yeah, you can watch him perforiming some of his new songs live on youtube (RW Berlin 2009)

I think it will be better than his last two albums... But still not as great as Sing When You're Winning or Escapology

Awful. At any wedding, birthday, or function you might attend in Britain it's like a bloody national anthem. i just sit there thinking "What are you people doing? Why are you so into this dirge?"

I really hate it. so, so much. lol

He even tried to copy the singer.

Well, I like the whole I've Been Expecting You Album. Other hit singles are Strong, No Regrets, Millenium.

RW is one of those who releases like HUNDREDS of b-sides. It's worth searchin for some gold there, because some of the b-sides are really good.

My favorite album is Sing When You're Winning.

I found it funny as hell that, only one year later, he called his swing album SWING When You're Winning.

I think this kind of irony's completely missing with American stars.
