I always wondered about Body Slamn-that is my fave Bootsy song and the reason is cause it has that Minneapolis sound to it "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I guess we know now why they havent! WHy, I must have missed that part, I watched the whole thing?? Basically they talked about Warner Bros. pressuring Bootsy to sound and look more like Prince. Bootsy's like "Man, I'm not trying to be like Prince, that's his thing"! Cut to a picture of him wearing a Purple Trenchcoat and lipstick! JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

I died laughing at that part chalk one up for the kid again lol but seriously Parliament and Bootsy Collins were the blueprint for the the funk period so it was wrong for the company to even suggest that at that time, plain disrespectful to the funk fathers

It happened to Prince, too I never considered Bootsy to be "Unsung". He's been extremely influential and he's gotten a lot of love. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

Yeah, I think Prince might have experienced this with him incorporating more rap in the early 90's the transition was odd but he got through it TONY M where you at !!!! lol

It's been perfect. His stuff has been sampled so many times, and he's just embraced it. He's brought a lot of younger listeners to his music. A lot of the comments on Youtube for his videos are young people saying they originally heard parts of the song from it being sampled, and that's what brought them to it. That's why it's not odd at all to see Bootsy with Snoop or Q-Tip. But when Prince performs with Will.I.Am. It looks really strange. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

I guess we know now why they havent! Wait a minute... what about that joint called Groove Eternal featuring "One" from Bootsy's 2004 release, Play With Bootsy, that had a whole lotta different musicians guesting? There was one other cut featuring P on that album too but I couldn't find a vid. It was called Dance to the Music. You can hear a short clip here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/...8&disc=001

He's "unsung" in a way that the mainstream don't truly know how truly influential he is. He changed the entire landscape of funk, first with James Brown and then with George Clinton, you don't usually see them crediting him for these genius artists' changes. Boot's a genius himself.

Bootsy denied it in his website, and somebody posted a pic of them toghether here(Bootsy & One). However the Body don't wanna quit, gotta get another hit is clearly a Prince nudge since its a line from All The Critics Love You In NY.

It was a good episode. Loved all the rare James Brown & P-Funk footage they showed. Now, I'm just waiting for the Roger Troutman & Zapp episode, but I think Klymaxx is next..

I did notice that "Prince" didn't sound quite exactly like himself on those recordings but I chalked it up to someone else being in charge of the production values.
