I want that jacket! Reminds me of Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" jacket on the Growing Up tour.

I texted my brother, who lives in Long Beach, about the free concert online. He said he's in the 42nd row, and got free tickets to the show, so he's there tonight. I think I might buy this DVD for him for Christmas, since we both watched the show together.

Do you have Adobe Flash Player installed? Is your firewall blocking the site or streaming content? All the usual questions are ones that should be answered by this point by you. It loaded for me straight away and hasn't hiccuped since. Not once. And I'm not on some super computer. I have a Dell D600 Latitude with a Vizio plugged in as a 2nd monitor (for this purpose), and it's going fine. I don't why it's not coming on my computer, but my girlfriend's now got it on hers. Hey Prince.....U2 just trumped your one-off Regal Cinemas gig for $20 a pop. (Although I have the DVD of that show, so it's not really a problem for me. LOL) Bravo to U2 for a good show, although I didn't know a lot of the songs. I am a casual U2 fan, so a lot of them I just didn't know. Still enjoyed the show. I was waiting for that stage to get up and walk off while killing everyone w/ laser beams. haha

Having heard almost every show this tour, it's really too bad this is the DVD. The 1st two tracks sound really clumsy and they cut 3 tracks from the opening of the show due to US audiences not responding to the new tracks.
It really jacks up the flow u=of the opening. These guys are true pros, but it feels like Bono was trying too hard to put up a high energy opening rather than just doing the songs to his best ability. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Yeah, when they opened with new stuff I was like 'huh'? But then again, I guess they are on a label and gotta promote the new album. I like a few songs but most people go to see U2 for the hits. Only they can pull it off though. Imagine if Prince had done a stadium tour behind the Rainbow Children. I bet by the end of the tour he would have just scrapped the entire album and resorted to hits. But with the U2 machine - they can get away with it, which keeps them really happy too. Nice to see this forum come alive, even if just for a little bit. Thanks to everyone for hanging out. Let's meet again when Prince does the same thing in a year or two. [Edited 10/26/09 0:04am]

I didn't watch any vids prior to being in Chicago. When that screen came to life (not the beginning of the show, but during "Unforgettable Fire") I about lost it. I didn't think it could be cooler.
Had to stay cryptic to not ruin the surprise for anyone still watching. I was right at the walkway in front of Edge in Chicago. From what I read, all the tapers were right around me and I never noticed them! Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

U2 can play whatever they want. They have that clout. I would think they answer to very few people at any label. Artists WANT to play new stuff and show off their new material, as much as play the hits. However, U2 is known to pull obscure tracks, or even remixes, from a past album and play them, as well as hits and new material. I don't think a label has anything to do w/ that. Go read the Wikipedia page about the tour. The set changes quite a bit after the first five songs. Also, don't forget that Prince did quite a few TRC songs on the One Nite Alone tour, and most of them are on the Aladdin DVD.

I was underwhelmed by this show and went to bed about a third of the way into it. I checked the setlists of the previous shows and they dropped "Pride (in the Name of Love)" about 5 weeks ago, so that cinched it for me. Did they do that song after all?

Allowed? LOL And who would be dictating to U2 what they should play, besides U2 themselves anyway?
