I used to get 112, Dru Hill, Jagged Edge, and Next's songs mixed up "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I have to agree here. I would rather not listen to either of them. That said, I like "Cupid". I can't even think of a song off the top of my head that Jagged Edge did (unless they did that "Don't Mess With My Girl" song).

I'd go with 112. I saw them live a couple of times in the 90's and they were good. 'Cupid' is one of my favorite songs ever. The lead singers in 'Jagged Edge' have great voices (killer tone!), but the songs rarely worked for me.

The downfall of RnB is what you hear today, all the autotune, dark beats, repetitive melodies, negative lyrics etc. At least 112 could sing decently. Are you kidding, they sound like a bunch of cats that are about to be castrated. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I don't like either of these groups much. Neither of them can sing to me. If I I would take 112 over JE any day. At least they did up tempo and slow jams. JE was straight up slow stuff. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I just don't like the kind of music that is playing on the radio today, especially what people consider to be R&B. The majority of today's R&B groups really don't know what it means to make good music. 112 & Jagged Edge are more about image and style than they are about music. "Let's Get Married" cannot compare to songs back in the day, that share the same sentiment. One song that comes to mind is "When we get married", by Larry Graham. While I'll admit it was cheesy, there was still something about the way he composed and sang the song. His words came from the heart. I don't believe the same can be said for Jagged's song. If it did, they would have left it the way it was and not do that "RDMC" remix. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Also, just because a song is No.1 on the charts, does not mean that it is a good song. It just may mean that there was nothing else to listen to at the time. While I would tend to jump to this conclusion, I think the song was innovative in that it was from a man's perspective of convincing a woman to get married, while keeping his cool. I actually dig it.

I'll go with JE.
Jagged Edge - my favorite singer was Brian. I love his rugged edge and soulful voice. To me his voice was more soulful than his other half. Richard has that negro soul voice though 112 - My fav was Daron then Q. I couldn't listen to most of their songs cause Slim would just start wailin like he at a damn funeral. I understand that they sang alotta love-depressed songs, but he don't have to cry in all of them It was too annoyin to handle. I swear the words "HATER" is wayyy over-rated...smh

Unfortunately for me I guess, this is what I grew up listening to, because when I was young, this is what was big. Now in time, I've discovered what else is out there, such as great music that came out before the 90's. In fact, it has actually made me like 112 less than I used to. I guess that is another discussion for another day, the perception of good music, especially growing up in a time when you don't know what to compare it to. www.youknowigotsoul.com for the latest in r&b and hip hop.

You know, YOU have a point, one of the reasons why people listen to the music of today, aside from the fact that all of their friends are listening to it, is also because, there is really nothing else on the radio to compare it to. The fact that you were open enough to want to listen to the "oldies", says something about you. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I know wifey to be another word for significant other - very significant at that - girlfriend or wife. A lot of that has to do with the fact that my parents wouldn't allow me to speak slang or street words growing up. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
